activity , I don't want to see that either , all I want is to be able to ride in the bush without fear of a fine .
But what ! should we just throw our hands up give up and accept this with out at least chalenging this blanket ban on our sport?
Well Im not so here is my 00.2c worth at least its something.
You might think me naive but without a lobby and no voice of opposition NOTHING will happen.

Manly Dam Maintenance Days Will Return!

Just spoke to a ranger at Manly Dam and there's some good news...

Seems like they are in the process of hiring a replacement for Nicole and this replacement will hopefully be starting within a month or so. The rangers definitely want to continue to work with riders on trail maintenance and appreciate all of the interest. With another person on board this should mean that can happen once more.

So give the newbie a chance to settle in and start arrangements. Not sure of course, but maybe this means within a couple of months the maintenance days will return?

In the mean time a bit of common sense is still required when thinking of riding around there. The track is still officially closed and would think it'll be at least another week before it dries out, even longer if the weather stays bad.

Ourimbah Explore/Training

When:
Saturday, 14 June, 2008 - 08:30

The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.

Ride Database Entry:
Ourimbah State Forest

The plan is, well there is no plan. I have never been here before so this is more of an exploring ride. I ride XC so this is not a hard core down hilling adventure but always happy to have a look.

I will look at the ride database before Saturday so hopefully I will have some idea but if anyone signs up with local knowledge that would be good.

Also, while this is an exploring ride I do like to ride at a decent pace.

The angry doctor will be my first organised event. So a couple of newb questions.

1. Do you guys tend get together a do a group booking for accomodation type thing ? I am going by myself so I am keen to meet up with some other folk who are going.

2. Is it strongly encouraged to wear some kind of Nob Mob gear ?

Here's an interesting article from SMH:

http://www.smh.com.au/news/national/new-airport-...

AN INTERNATIONAL airport should be built at Newcastle with a fast train link to Sydney, national parks should be opened for commercial tourism and Sydney should be rebranded as a global tourist destination, says a scathing report on the State Government's handling of tourism since the 2000 Olympics.
