What is going on with Australian Bike Shops????

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

I know parts here in Australia are somewhat more expensive then in US, but there some things that I just can’t understand. I’ve been looking for a seal kit for my Fox RP23 shock and I found it in a couple of bike shops near my work and they were charging $40 for the kit. I also found it online from Moruya Bicycles ($29 with shipping). Then I decided to look abroad and found out that this kit costs around $7.00 in US.

Light, Durable, Cheap

This is a great quote,

When it comes to bike components, you can only pick two out of three adjectives to describe them: light, durable, or cheap. Having all three in one is impossible.

From V-brakes and snow don’t mix.

2008 Norco Saquatch FOR SALE

2008 Norco Saquatch, size medium. Bought just under three months ago from The Bike Shed. Have only taken it out on the trails once and commuted to work a few times. Bike is in great condition and as spec'd by the bike shop minus some of the stickers and a change of saddle - Selle Italia SLR Gel Flow. Reason for sale - moving back to the uk. I'm looking for $850 ono and would rather a local pickup or drop off. email for pictures: nodrog (at) clara.co.uk

More Parts

Today the Rush got... a tiny bit of bling... a Salsa seat clamp.

Then through necessity... new bottom bracket and a new Crossmark on the rear.

The rear tire was an absolute pain to get to seal this time. Grrrrrrr!

Ourimbah Ride

Hello all,

My hubbie and I are talking about heading up to Ourimbah State Forest to do some riding over the weekend. Does anyone know what the condition of the trails might be with all of the rain we have been getting lately? Also, if anyone in interested in joining us, that would be great. We are flexible about either riding Sat. or Sun. and the weather looks good for both days as far as I can tell. Cheers!

Excellent bike rack

I can highly recommend this bike rack over others I've used in the past. It uses bungee type straps to keep it on the bars and gives you flexibility in putting multiple bikes on the rack cause you can put the bikes wherever you like on the bar. It cost $160 at St Ives Cycles - no connection to me Smiling.

I bought a seat to stem type bar to make it easier for my Stumpy which is shown here http://nobmob.com/node/4942
