night ride tomorrow...

Hello!
Is anyone keen to ride tomorrow night? Tuesday...usual place, Terrey Hills etc...a friends husband has signed up for Dirtworks and says he is coming – he is fast so you ‘roid boys will be happy – I won’t!!
(however...I did buy an extra light yesterday so will be able to see better –I was sprung by Rob in BA)
7 for a 7.30 start - although, the days are a bit shorter so am happy for a 7.15 ride out if you all are...

Bad Directions

I noticed recently that (in Australia) Google Earth has had roads added. That, and Google Maps has the ability to give directions.

Erm... very bad directions. Just for fun I asked it the way to Mooney Mooney Creek. Close, but no cigar! As where this is telling you to turn left to complete the journey... erm... well, it will get you there but not very safely. You see, the free way crosses the creek here on a bridge at least 100m above!!

One should take the turnoff before and drive down the Pacific Highway to be on the safe side Eye-wink

Lucky this is only Beta, eh?

Yellowmundie

Hi Tien After you see the big green sign pointing left to Springwood, turn left and follow the road to the base of the mountain, where you will see a set of power transmission towers, and a driveway on the left, where you will see my white landrover, as I am getting there early. Cheers Dave

New Granny

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

In the same time it took to wear the middle ring this is the same damage to granny.

It's actually not so bad (well, compared to middle), even though I do try and spread the wear by switching to granny gear whenever possible (I don't like standing to climb).

New Middle Ring

It's that time again. Massive wear to middle ring after only a year or so - time for a new one.

Don't think it's necessary to explain which is which here!

Have a look at the granny to compare wear levels between each ring. Of course the big ring was hardly touched from a wear point of view - although it was bent and had missing teeth a-plenty due to being used as a bash guard! :">

Sink Degreaser

The true test of an understanding partner... is it OK to use the kitchen sink as a degrease bath?

Sat 17th Ride Meeting in Cromer 4pm

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Sat 17th ride meeting in Cromer 4pm.

So far three of us going, but the more the merrier! If we just do the 25km loop, it will be from here in Cromer to the start of the trail in Cromer Heights, which then takes you to near the Red Hill rock carvings, then head off from there along the different tracks to Wakehurst parkway, then head up to Oxford Falls along the road, then hit the trails from there down to the Deep Creek, and then along the tracks to Narrabeen lake, then around the lake back to Cromer. Optionally we could head from Oxford Falls along the road towards the Bahai temple and take the track down from there to Narrabeen... that would make the trip a bit longer... but we should be back before 8pm either way. We are just social riders, so don't worry if you are not super fit...
