Old Man's Valley update for 26 Nov

Status:
Green/Open

Rode this on Monday after work (24th Nov). Had that storm rain pass through after lunch so I went there half expecting not to be able to ride it, but it was fine - wood sections showed a bit of dampness but not so much as a puddle anywhere else. It actually started to rain on us again while we were there but another lap showed it was still totally fine to ride. Petty much rode all of it I think, without issue. Hopefully get there at least once more before I leave for England for good.

Manly Dam update for 26 Nov

Area:
Manly Dam
Status:
Green/Open

Still Green, little bit more rain to pack it down some, but just be careful of lots of sticks/branches etc. on the Cootamundra first section as they have been in clearing the bush like they did with the firetrail to create a bigger firebreak.

The Hellfire Cup - 2014 (aka a bunch of mates go MTB riding in Tassie)

What an incredible weekend away.
Its been a while since I wrote a race review, but this one is well worth some words - especially as it is still so new on the calendar, and one that ought to be a huge success in the future....

Its very hard to write-up a stage race – so much happens within each stage that putting it all together makes for such a huge long list of events that it’s impossible to get the ‘feel’ for the event.

Instead of writing up a blow by blow account of who won what, and who punctured when, let’s leave it at this:

I am selling my Giant Anthem X29er 1 - 2011 Model as it is never ridden due to me having too many MTB's. The bike is in great condition and I am selling it as it came, but have upgraded to carbon handlebars and will throw in a set of shimano clipless pedals.

It is a small frame and will fit a rider roughly between 160cm to 174cm.

This is a great deal for someone who is getting into MTB and does not want to spend a fortune as it is such a versatile bike.

Withdrawn: Kurt Kinetic Rock and Roll Fluid Trainer & Turnable Riser Ring

Price:
349.00

Kurt Kinetic Rock and Roll Fluid Trainer & turnable riser ring.

The Aussie retail on this is north of $800. Cheapest price I can find online is $699. Asking half that which includes the riser ring (usually an added extra).

Fantastic trainer. Fluid resistance unit is smooth as silk and quiet. Very heavy flywheel for realistic spin down.

Due to it's repeatable and accurate resistance you can easily estimate power efforts from a wheel speed sensor as discussed here:

Escape - Mount Rinjani. Lombok, Indonesia

I've trekked here... it's a volcano so sketchy as anything. I can also guarantee they didn't walk up there with bikes on their backs the whole way Eye-wink
