Travel Insurance

Having to help the guy who busted his collarbone at OMV last weekend has spooked me a little with the thought "what if that happened to me" while overseas in Rotorua.

So I'm wondering what you guys who are more experienced with mtbing overseas have done to cover this risk, and who you've found to be good.

From Blue Door Point Rd to Ten Mile Hollow, sticks, sticks and more sticks with the odd tree across the track thrown in for fun.

Am I going backwards?

I was brought up to believe if you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all. On that basis I have nothing to say about this years Fling.

Some points I will mention, the 1st stage went well, I managed to stick with the lead groups....just! When I set off on the final stage I was 15th in category and then gave up another 14 category places not to mention numerous overall places.

My legs still hurt!

Lane Cove National Park update for 12 Nov

Status:
Green/Open

Rode through from De Burgh's Bridge to the top of Devlins today. All good except for a tree down across the track just upstream from Brown's Waterhole. Easily spotted, but need to lift the bike over. Moved a couple of smaller dead trees off the top end of Devlins. NPWS track work up there does not seem to have progressed much and there are riding lines around most of it.

2007 Giant Trance 1. Medium.

$700 Ono

Very good condition. I have other bikes to go hard on so this has served as my XC bike and had a relatively easy life.

Looked after and completely stock parts as it came with, barring a brake upgrade to Juicy 7s.

Located in Allambie or can be at St Leonards

"Dear fellow mountain bike nuts and Sparrow Hill fans.
The good news is always that your back tyre hasn’t gone flat overnight after your last ride.
The bad news is that time is nearly up for Sparrow.
We’ve always dreaded the thought that one day the harvesting machines will thunder into Kowen Forest and clear-fell our trees.

3 steps back at a painful half fling

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Having improved by nearly an hour over the last 4 half flings that I've done, I was billing this as my main race for the year and knew a lot more about how to train, how to eat and how to race than when I first started a few years back. Sub 3 has been a long term goal for a while.

Preparation didn't go to plan though (I haven't adapted to training whilst having a young baby to look after and have also had a few injury niggles which meant I only did 1 ride of longer than 2 hours in the lead up to the race).
