Appin update for 16 Jan
I went out this morning on foot to take photos of sections that need some work and it is still wet. While it was raining there was ankle deep water flowing down the trail in some areas and still a number of places with standing water. Give it a few days to dry out, unlike to two riders out there this morning.

Overly wet, puddles everywhere in the singletrack following the golf course. The final section before the hydraulics laboratory is soaked. Im going to say its rideable but with the rain right now its not a smart move to go ahead. I don't think I've seen it in such a state in while, it was drier following the rain in winter

Manly Dam update for 16 Jan
Was there last saturday (14/01) and it was raining a bit that morning but still there were riders coming in and out of the track the whole morning. Some parts had muddy paddles and the tracks were starting to get wet that morning.
It rain hard saturday night, sunday and this morning so I would not be surprise if the whole place is very wet. Exercise caution due to slippery parts of the track.

I know this is a little off topic here, but this kind of bike may appeal to all types of riders. For both road and mountain riders wanting to get closer to the 'other side' (whatever that might be), Cyclocross is allegedly the 'in' way to do this and prove that your side is better than the other 
Or on the other hand, are you looking for a sturdy commuter (or training bike even?) that's much faster and nicer to ride than hybrids and other such nonsense?

WMBC Round 1 was cancelled this morning because the track was wet. When I was there this morning in the pouring rain water was flowing down parts of the track and the first creek level was rising. Give it a few days to dry out.
