Andos + Oaks (Wingello is where I'll be heading)

When:
Sunday, 5 February, 2012 - 06:53

The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.

Ride Database Entry:
Andersons
Meeting Point:

Meet at Woodford Train Station to catch the train up to Wentworth Falls.

Although the keen can combine this with The Oaks in which case you'll want to meet down at Glenbrook.

Show on Google maps: Meeting point. Login or register to get directions.

Train leaves Glenbrook at 6:53am. Getting some kms in the legs ready for the Mont. This will be a step up from a cruisy Sunday but not flat out race pace. A few stops along the way eg Bedford Ck crossing, top of Bedford Ck climb, top of Oaks to refill water bottles, helipad, Glenbrook bottle shop Smiling

Heli-biking in Queenstown NZ

Just returned from Queenstown and some awesome heli-biking in the Remarkables. Vertigo bikes in Queenstown provided a full (and excellent) service and supplied everything. Good intermediate to advanced skills required to stay alive and a good rush - 5,000ft decent in two hours (includes stops to take in the views), quite technical and fast with a bit of terror thrown in. Highly recommended.
It's back to Manly Dam for me over the week-end but I will be dreaming of other places.

State of Awaba, Ourimbah, Glenrock

can anyone give a recent status report on the state of the trails at Awaba, Ourimbah and Glenrock? I see they are all still green but just wanting to check given the rain of the last week. I have some mates that are heading over today from WA, they have a massive MTB trip planned which includes these trails.
thanks

Garmin compatibility

Looks like my Garmin Forerunner 305 has bitten the dust, started flicking between screens on last nights ride, couldn't do anything with it. Somehow managed to turn it off but now it won't turn on.

I've read some forums that suggest it's probably the internal contacts that have corroded, I could take it apart to find out or I could just buy a 500.

Stupid question time or maybe not, will the cadence and HRM from the forerunner work with the 500?

Cheers

Track is in surprisingly good condition, Perimeter is basically dry from the school, Long this time is holding more water. Know problems to ride.

Do you have more information?

The Oaks update for 17 Jan

Area:
The Oaks
Status:
Amber/Some Issues

Excellent. The road to the causeway is 'closed because of flooding', but if you actually go there, you'll see that the water is a mere 30cm deep - you can ride across without getting your feet wet. The gate is locked, though, so you'll need to park outside it and carry your bike over. The track itself is brilliant.

GREAT! Creek is flowing heavily though; almost up to my hips. Just walk through and carry your bike.

Bruce Ridge update for 17 Jan

Area:
Bruce Ridge
Status:
Green/Open

Dry and dusty. Had forgotten how much I like bruce ridge. Great to ride hear again although it was crowded. It surprises me that the trails are not directional as I passed at least 5 people each lap going the other way. Guess its proof that single track in native forest isn't that dangerous that they don't need to make it directional to avoid head on accidents.

Withdrawn: Xtr bottom bracket 2.5mm spacer

Note that this is "Withdrawn" so is here for archive purposes only.
Price:
5.00

I'm looking for a M970 Xtr bottom bracket 2.5mm spacer.

I was wondering why my cranks has so much gunk at the tightening thread... When I checked the Shimano tech document, I found that I'm missing a spacer.

If anyone has a spare one around, I'd be happy to throw a few dollars your way. (& postage too)

Thanks, Chris.
