Bruce Ridge Nature Reserve
AIS Carpark/Underpass between Bruce Ridge and Canberra Stadium
After an assessment of the ecological values of Bruce Ridge and a community consultation process, the Government has agreed to the formalisation of some of the informal cycling tracks in Bruce Ridge Nature Reserve. The investigation into formalising some of the trails on Bruce Ridge identified that formalisation of some of the existing cycling trails would not impact on flora and fauna of the reserve. Instead it identified that the formalising the trails would have significant safety, environmental and social benefits.
To help to support the process Parks and Conservation Service are working with a new community group called ‘Friends of Bruce Ridge’. Friends of Bruce Ridge are a group of like minded people who enjoy the native bushland and recreational opportunities offered by Bruce Ridge. We have come together to support the maintenance of Bruce Ridge in conjunction with ACT Parks and Conservation Services.
