Thredbo - home of snow sports in winter has the only chairlift serviced downhill run in NSW. There's also some nice XC tracks out of the village too, but most will be heading here for the gravity action.

Meeting Point:

Kosciuszko Express Chairlift, just off Friday Drive, Thredbo

Full Description:

Plenty of great mountain biking in Thredbo.

There are three excellent downhill trails serviced by two chair lifts.
* Cannonball for the advanced/expert riders. Full face helmets required.
* Kosciuszko Flow for fast intermediate riding.
* All Mountain Trail for intermediates is quite technical at the top. Take the Gunbarrel Chair to start 3/4 of the way up and get mainly flow trail to the bottom.
* Also use Gunbarrel for the new (late 2018) Easy Street flow trail which joins to the bottom half of the Kosciuszko Flow.

In the valley, there are numerous cross country trails.
* Thredbo Valley Trail is a 20km Flow trail down the valley to Lake Crackenback Resort. There is a 9km extension down the valley you currently need to ride back up, but will soon (later in 2019) be extended all the way to Jindabyne.
* Multiple shorter loops in the lower valley for beginner and intermediate riders have some small climbs.

About 6km up the Alpine Way from the village, the Cascades Track provides a great back country trail out to Cascade Hut (or further if you plan and prepare well). A good climb and a yahoo descent each way over Bob's Ridge and spectacular alpine scenery.

Facilities:

A chairlift, bike rental and service, accommodation, hotels, bars, restaurants, servo and more.
