On the border of the Southern Highlands and Shoalhaven, this area is a famed for the Meryla Pass ride from Fitzroy falls to Kangaroo Valley.

Penrose State Forest
At a Glance
Penrose used to have quiet a bit of juicy single track. Those that did the first Highland Fling back in 2005 will remember this. Sadly a lot of this has been logged. There are small parts left and perhaps the trail fairies have been busy? Or perhaps you just like riding round forest firer trail as there's lots of that here too.

This is the home track for Southern Highlands Cycle Club. A 9.5km circuit of mostly single track. A little fire road too.
Wingello State Forest

Heading back to the car (which was parked crn of Forest/Caoura Roads - dumb idea, don't do that). As you can see, it's been a great day here.
Large (1,200+ ha) State forest with the usual firetrails spread across it, but with more hills than (sort of) neighbouring Penrose State Forest make it a bit more fun. Gets rated as just 2 blown lungs because you can take things real easy in here.
