S&S C grade reversal corner

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.
Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Just started a bit of work on our new DH trail. Skinny Mal and the crew have been going gang busters doing all the hard work just went up today to do a bit of the fiddly stuff.

It all starts with a fast naturally cambered section and then swings up into this corner.

This gives us a natural grade reverse to help control water but has the issue of having the possibility of water sheeting across the trail in the braking and turning zone

A bit muddy up top, but should dry out with about 3 days of dry weather. Tthere is a tree down between lockyers and coxs on the top section. A track has been diverted around.
Another tree down near the bottom descent of Lockyers. Take care particularly at night.

Richard spent last weekend cleaning up the short track but the back section of the long loop still has a lot of trees down.

The off camber DH section coming back to the start area also has a large tree down across the fast section which will probably need a by pass so take care

Working bee this sunday to clean things up http://ctmbc.net/node/29752

Lithgow - Capertee Valley

Peter Beggs and myself had a fabulous day out...

Lithgow to Capertee via Blackfellows Hands, Baal Bone Gap, Gardens of Stone NP into Capertee Valley, and to the Hwy @ Capertee.

Weather was exceptional and we had a hoot through some of the most picturesque country around...

Just got this in

The BNSW Environmental Trust Video Competition invites budding film makers from across Australia to create a 5 minute video to promote bike riding as a sustainable, healthy and environmentally friendly form of transport and recreation.

There are lots of ways to get started, for example, you can use a helmet cam and filming your trip to work or school, or you can do a full production, it is up to you and remember your film does not have to have a dialogue.

Just found these pics i took as part of a photoshoot for a bike shop a few years back...
Not that its a bike trail but we shot this series in Mermaids Cave on Megalong Valley Rd just out of Blackheath... Magic place... especially when it starts raining... the waterfall suddenly just starts roaring...
