The Oaks update for 17 Jul
The single track from the Oaks gate down to the car park is all clear and dry. It seems to be missing a few small rocks in some sections though. 
Do you have more information?

Oaks Single Track + Knapsack
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
Glenbrook Park. In the small car park opposite the shops.
Glenbrook to the Oaks gate, then back down single track including the techy section and then over to Knapsack for a loop. Pace will be "enjoyable".

XTR Derailure smashed.
Rear wheel rolled on the edge of a rock that flipped up and took out the rear derailure. Massive bend in the hanger. Hope the carbon is ok!!

Winmalee warm-up

End of White Cross Rd, Winmalee, NSW. There's a small parking area here but it's a standard suburban street so overflow isn't a problem.
My riding buddy Craig and Myself are heading out for a bit of a training ride around Winmalee in the morning. We are meeting at the Whitecross carpark. Starting with a run along Shaw's Ridge, down the fast and loose descent into Bluegum Swamp then up the beast that is Bee's Nest to the lookout. From there we heading along Springwood Ridge, down the really steep technical descent into the Grotto. Then we'll hang a left and ride through Bluegum in reverse, back up the grinding Shaw's hill, along Shaw's Ridge in reverse.
Any one into multi-sport events?
Curious if any riders are into more sports than mtb.
I'm thinking of doing the Nepean Odyssey. Organized by same crew doing Kanangra 100. Involves mtb, kayaking and xc running. At 80k's total, it's gonna test me out, especially as I've never really kayaked before. So I'm doing more training before I commit. It was gonna be held in Nov, but now pushed way back to March. Get more training in I guess...and find some kayak gear

Not quite ridden the whole way
After about 7 and a half minutes I'm gone. Can't quite get the last high section staying on the bike. WHAT THE HELL DO I HAVE TO DO? Tried about 10 times and will keep on it. A shame too, cos it takes me just under 9 mins to run the same section.

Anyone need thorn-proof tyres?
Just got an email from a mate of mine in Zimbabwe, who is constantly fighting the battle against thorns, and searching for the ultimate thorn-proof solution.
He thinks he's found it:
"After many years off trying various tyres; Tubeless and Tubed… I now pronounce the toughest tubeless tyre in the world to be the Maxxis Crossmark tyre ….
This (see photos) was found under the mud after washing this afternoon… I remember a bit of a hiss about 8 kms from the finish yesterday… I thought it was just another of many thorns.
Knapsack Reserve update for 03 Jul
Cruised around Knapsack this afternoon and all looks good.
