Royal National Park - Good tracks for riding in current conditions?
MTB'ing is the new golf...
I have a 'work meeting' with an interstate colleague on Saturday - he's passing through Sydney airport and has a 6 hours layover...
I want to take him to Royal National Park for a MTB ride (based on proximity to airport) ....which are the recommended RNP tracks under the recent weather conditions?
MT Annan Loop
Mt Annan Loop
Reading the MT Annan Gardens website, it indicates riding for general public are during opening hours (10am - 5pm). An riding from dawn to dusk is available to friends of the gardens members.
I am an early starter, is there any option to ride the gardens early i.e 7ish without bein a friend of the garden. i.e can anyone just ride into the gardens from outside and park their car on the street ?

single track ride fest
wanting to do a couple of rides at two different, but nearby locations in sydneys southwest, was thinking of starting with "the kessel run" at south Camden fully enclosed singletrack smooth and flowing along the edge of the Nepean river,in my opinion one of the best bits of track sydney has to offer!from there back in the cars and head over to the back of campbelltown and ride the more rocky and technical trails on the Georges river, would start out on the "Bendy trail" then work our way along single track to the "rock trail"then downhill track and return along creek track
Appin condition?
Does anyone know the condition of the appin trail? Was thinking of heading there Tuesday morning. I've never been there before, so not sure if it drains well or not.
How difficult is Mt Annan?
Looking for an Easter Tuesday Family outing and was interested in heading to Mt. Annan Botanic Gardens. However, I'd like to know how easy the green route is? My 3 year old is a maniac on his BMX and is putting in some decent k's (10+ on bike paths) at the moment, not to mention spending every other second jumping off gutters and rolling down other people's terraced gardens so I wonder if he is up to the challenge?
Are there many/any tech sections?
Is it fairly smooth?
How are the hills?
etc.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Appin
Hi All,
Thinking of doing Appin soon and want some indication of how technical it is. Have read the garb here Rob has very kindly put up, but still unsure if my abilities can cope !
Have ridden Manly Dam numerous times, get off at a few places where my limits force me, so with an intermediate ability, how would I go ?
Cheers, Scott
Bike riding in Mt Annan after close
I received a email today asking people to not organise riding of the new Mt Annan tracks after closing time , as we all know there are limited amount of tracks to ride on if people keep abusing the use of these important measures they will be taken away from us very easily . So for eveybody pleasure of riding make sure you are already riding way before the gates are closed & you are a member of friends of the gardens or get in the park early in the morning just before it opens .

Magpies at Mt Annan
Just checked out Mt Annan for the first time and thought it was a pretty cool track minus the 2 stupid magpies halfway thru the intermediate loop. I'm not from Australia and have never heard of these dang birds so I was very surprised and didn't know what was going on. Almost had a heart attack the first time they swooped as they surprised the hell out of me.
