WWS round 3 (8hr) 15th April - Anyone doing this?
By the sounds of it round two was a mudwrestle... Is anyone going for round 3 and fancy either teaming up or just meeting up for it? I've not done an 8-hr before but I'm pretty keen to give it a go.

Ta,

Careflight Classic Anyone?
I was talking with a friend about last weekend's speed run down The Oaks and he suggested we might like to do the Careflight Woodford to Glenbrook Classic.
Now - in the past I've said, "Bloody hell - $35 to ride down a trail I can do anytime!". But, since then have attended a few events and realise that the fun of the day is something not to be missed. I've also seen people flown off even fire trail - and anyone that saw Sunday's 60 Minutes story about Boy Wonder will realise what a critical role choppers funded by these sorts of events play.
The actual route is from Woodford station to Euroka near Glenbrook, and it's scheduled for Sunday June 24.
Anyone want to make a team (no limit on numbers, first two home decide the team time)? Or just go solo?
Entry forms are here for those who are tempted.
Cyclinic
After having a SHITE day yesterday ( http://nobmob.com/node/1426#comment-2770 ) I had a REALLY GRRRREAT day today.
Cyclinic with Paul Rowney and Rob Eva, really cool. Too tired to write too much now, but, I can only recommend it. Well worth the money, and the blokes are really nice.
And i did it on my girlfriends 16kg old bike. Drift awaaaaaaaay!

Port 12 hr enduro
For those who are interested, a tribe of us has returned form a successful venture to the Port 12 hr enduro. What an amazing event, we definetly have some goals to achieve now. An absolutley perfect track with everything in it. 8+ ks long but realistically rideable by any standard. We will be planning a day trip sometime in the future, will keep you posted on that one. Results are up at http://12hr.hvmtbr.com/
The 4 boys from Rainbow Cycles did a four man team and smashed it. If they didn't break a chain, which reflected in their lap 9 split time of 36+ minutes, they would have won their division. Rowan from Bob Wallis had some painfull night issues but after a nice 2hr+ nap, woke up firing and raced solidly to finish high in the solo placing's of 8th overall. Terry Bernut from Corindi, had a great start before snapping a hanger and unfortunately couldn't find a spare anywhere. My brother, Michael Hawke, started his second ever race in the solo division on a loan bike which he had never ridden before and rode in hiking boots before he hit the pre-dawn wall and like Rowan had a nice little sleep. Like Rowan he awoke with flair and gusto and punched out some nice laps. He tired around smoko and decided to share his bike with Terry so they could both post a finish time and enjoy the awesome track.
Sydney 24 hour
So the Sydney 24 Hour for 2007 has finally been announced:
http://www.brightorangeevents.com/BOE_24_Main.htm
I've done this race for the last two years (once in a team of six, once solo) and am eager to go again - but not as a solo!
Does anyone want to get a team together? I don't intend to be super-competitive - just go out and have some fun.

MWMBT Race Day- St Ives 23-12-06
Matt and I turned up for one of the Manly Warringah Mountain Bike Club race meetings, this one at St Ives. This was a great afternoon and something NoBMoB should join more often.
Matt and I both signed on as Group C. I was well placed in this group as I finished last in both our races. You know I couldn’t believe these guys didn’t stop every 100 metres or so for me to catch up, bastards.
Guess who was the stand out winner in both our races? yes it was steroids Matt. I told you all I was right.
Jokes aside Matt really kicked ass, so much so that he has been up graded to B division. I recon he would give the A's a run for their money!

Urban Polaris anyone?
It appears that there is not nearly enough discussion about the Urban Polaris this coming weekend. Is anyone else going along?
Its really a great fun event so if you have the weekend free you should look into it.
