Wednesday nights ride to anywhere but the Dam !
Terry Hills Tavern
Please park out in the Street
We will put the ride destination to the vote prior to departure.
Either, Perimeter/long trail or Duck hole & Centre Track
Manly Dam - pre social
King Street (near corner with Arana Street), Manly Vale. You know - outside Manly Hydraulics Lab.
With Damiens ride full, thought I'd gather interest for a 2 lap ride to catch up with the others by the end.
Medium pace, no stopping.
Wiseman's Ferry social ride
Wisemans Ferry - by the East ferry crossing (turn right bottom of the hill). There is a good parking area by the kiosk here.
I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!
Well, for this weekend anyway, so I thought I'd go for a Sunday morning bimble.
This will be the compact Wiseman's Ferry ride - up Western Commission Track to get to the ridge, then turn left to follow the good bits of the Great North Road, back to and down Shepherd's Gully with the unfortunate few k's gravel & bitumen finish to the ferry. 35-40k's all up at a respectably social pace - this isn't a training ride, though I would like to get back home in time for cucumber sandwiches and earl grey, so anticipate a 3 hour or so ride.
Sunday morning Ourimbah ride [SUAR]
North End of Red Hill Rd, Ourimbah State Forest. There's a large-ish parking area here, just off the main sealed road. There is also a smaller parking area a little further (400m or so from the road) where the trail splits - this second area is the usual meeting point. If you end up driving up a steep hill you've gone too far.
Sunday morning Ourimbah ride - at a decent time
...organised by our [fast] friends from http://www.shutupandride.net/ [SUAR]
Manly Dam - Cancelled
King Street (near corner with Arana Street), Manly Vale. You know - outside Manly Hydraulics Lab.
I want to get out on my bike at night again so I am off to one of my favourites for a night ride Manly so any one else up for a fun ride around the dam at night.
This is the one for you if you are short on time and have to start a little later and aren’t fused about hanging around at the pub afterwards. So starting a little later than the usual I should be ready to go at 8.00pm for a moderately paced fun social lap I like to keep it simple on Wednesday nights so the normal loop is the go but I can be flexible and if others want to take some detours then I will follow no problem.
The Oaks Up & Back Plus Extras
Glenbrook station carpark.
This is my semi regular early Saturday morning blue mountains ride.
This ride is the Oaks up and back but with a couple differences.
Red Hill - Super happy fun day v2.0b
Red Hill Reserve car park, off Lady Penryhn Drive, Beacon Hill. Another option is to ride over here from Oxford Falls.
I'm planning to ride a big loop that covers pretty much everything up there. Starting from the usual meeting point, head over to the down hill track, back up the 4wd track to the top, rim ride, drop zone and whatever else we find whilst there.
This will be a fairly easy paced ride, but probably not suitable for those not comfortable with the rough stuff. Leave the lycra at home and bring the big bike.
Fun Ourimbah laps
North End of Red Hill Rd, Ourimbah State Forest. There's a large-ish parking area here, just off the main sealed road. There is also a smaller parking area a little further (400m or so from the road) where the trail splits - this second area is the usual meeting point. If you end up driving up a steep hill you've gone too far.
I'm heading up to Ourimbah this Sunday for 4 - 5 hours.
Some fast paced laps, some relaxed laps - hopefully not too much mud.
Recently requested Menai ride
By the sports field on Old Illawarra Road, Barden Ridge.
A few people recently have expressed interest in riding at Menai, so here it is.
I have no planned route at the moment and I’ll wait and see who comes along before deciding on where to go. However, my plan is to ride for at least three hours.

I'll be taking some friends up to Red Hill on Sunday morning and planning to ride a big loop that covers pretty much everything up there.
