Pikey's ride (not quite) revisited
Terrey hills tavern
**CHANGE OF PLAN**
As there has been quite a bit of rain in the last 24 hours, the trails I was originally hoping to ride will be a little too damp for a fun ride tonight.
So, off to duckhole and centre track meaning we can be back in time to order food at the tavern instead.
Sparrow Hill and Stromlo Ride hard and keep warm
Coming from Sydney, drive into Queenbeyan, turn left at the roundabout where Red Rooster is and stay on this road for about 11km. Park on the side of the road where the gate is. For better directions try this link CORC: Events: Race Venues.
I will be blindly following the red or blue arrows around untill i get tired of the best singletrack around , if i dont get lost .....
And all going well scoot off to Stromlo for a hot lap of the Std XC Course ( well not that hot at 45-47 min night laps for me ) If there is anyone here to keep me company i could be convinced to explore some more but as the place feels to me like Wolf Creek at night, on my own i only have the courage to bolt around one time
I do have to work the next day but am planning to run around Bermagui MTB park the next night and all are welcome also
Oxford Falls Fun
Morgan Road, Belrose. At the second 90 degree right hand bend in the road. There's an area just before you can park and a firetrail heading off to the left.
Wanting to get back to some fun riding now that all the big races are over for a little while, the idea was to ride the DH tracks & ease back into some DH riding.
There are quite a few trails to choose from to cover a wide range of abilities although you will require reasonable bike skills. This ride is NOT for new riders!
If you feel like you need your armour bring it along & please know your own abilities.
Everyone rides at their own risk.
Hope to see some of you there

A good hoon under the moon.
A couple of laps and some play about.

What no rides posted this weekend?!!

Rotorua, some of the BEST singletrack in the world
Rotorua Airport
The plan is to spend in and around Rotorua NZ riding some of the best trails in the world....
We would be looking at spending a week there riding/eating/drinking and having a good time.
Well I have been thinking about doing this trip for a while and opening it up to nobmob
So after having a chat with AIR NZ to organise a group discount, which they didnt offer I have decided I would organise the in NZ part of the trip.
You will need to book and pay for your own flights to NZ,Rotorua.
What I will organise:
Early social lap of the Dam
King Street (near corner with Arana Street), Manly Vale. You know - outside Manly Hydraulics Lab.
Those who didn't make DW that feel like a social ride - no great pace but not too many stops
fun only Newbies/Lurkers SOCIAL ride
Park opposite/beside Terrey Hills shops, corner Booralie Rd/Yulong Ave. Or in the small carpark next to the RFS station & community centre.
This is a Thank God Training is Over for Dirtworks fun social ride which will be at a friendly pace with stops and a meal break at the end of the Long Trail
Right now I am tired so can’t think of lots of nice friendly chatty things to say to all you nooobs and lurkers other than you are welcome to come along with or without your own mates, girlfriends, wives, husbands or boyfriends as long as you bring you sense of humour
Depending on who comes along I may incorporate some games into this ride to ensure you all have fun and don’t hooooon around...
MEEE
Last Chance Distance Ride for DW
Park opposite/beside Terrey Hills shops, corner Booralie Rd/Yulong Ave. Or in the small carpark next to the RFS station & community centre.
As I missed riding last weekend I need to get a decent distance in before DW. So I'm planning on doing around 50km to fire the legs up and feel a bit better for next Sunday (althougn I'm doing the 100km so will have to wing the 2nd half!).
Plan is to do Centre/Duckholes or whatever and then a few trails accessed off the road into Ku-ring-ai. Then maybe Perimeter/Long depending on how I feel.
Pace will not be quick but I don't plan on larking about
Open to all and somebody with a bit more familiarity of the trails would be most welcome.
