Terrey Hills Night Ride
Park opposite/beside Terrey Hills shops, corner Booralie Rd/Yulong Ave. Or in the small carpark next to the RFS station & community centre.
Binned due to bad weather - it's not looking like the balmy night I'd hoped. Reports are that there has been constant drizzle/rain so imagine even if DH/C are good, Perimeter will be a soggy mess. No-one seems that keen so ride cancelled. Sorry if this catches you unaware.
Oooh look...
The Mont is on in couple of weeks.
I haven't riden on dirt since that crash at Appin in January.
Have just got back from couple week holiday.
Haven't used lights on the bike since... must be the Scott?
All this tells me it's time for a night ride at Terrey Hills to make sure the lights are still working and make sure I can still ride on the dirt before going up to GNR
The plan will be Duck Hole + Centre + Perimeter + Long. Should take a smidgen over 2 hours, but I put 2.5 just in case. As it won't be that dark to begin you'll probably only need lights with 2 hour burn time.
This is posted as a training ride, but it's all subjective... it would be nice to do it non-stop but can play it by ear at the time.
There will be scope for a visit to the Tavern afterwards for those who like that sort of thing
Were you there and have a story to tell?

I'm in. I've only ever done the Perimeter + Long tracks and this looks like a good training ride for the Mont, as you say. Although my bike will be in 'all mountain' mode so hopefully I won't slow everyone down too much.
Be keen to get out and stretch the legs. Be also my first night ride ooooooooooo.
I would have been up for this but < too much info> I have quite a raw saddle sore that needs a rest. Now I know why its best not to wear undies under lycra< /too much info>
Who gave you that terrible piece of 'advice'?
That's why ppl pay for good chamois...
That's why I said "Best Not to Wear" or are you saying you should wear undies.
I assume your saddle sores are a result of wearing something in-between yourself and your knicks? Definitely not the way to go...
Hope we don't get any rain tonight!
Rob, what do you think about tonight. What time will you make a decision as to whether we ride?
It's looking pretty ugly out there isn't it?
There's nothing on the rain radar though. I'm more worried about the wind to be honest.
What's the concensus?
I'm up in Frenchs Forest and it's been drizzling constantly for the last hour or so. Nothing heavy though.
What's the forecast?
Forecast is for showers, wind gusts up to 37km/h. 2.2mm rain over last 24 hours:

I haven't been outside since getting to work this-morning. Where did Winter come from?!
drizzle with the odd heavy shower at St Ives since about 9.30 this morning.
I work at Terrey Hills and it has been constantly drizzling for the past 3 hours.....although the trails we are riding tonight hold up very well.
and
I have borrowed a friends light tonight and he tells me that it costs him plenty, and the last thing i want to do is ruin his night light.
So, your post, your call.
