Killed my Garmin Edge 800 with OTB!

Went over the bars today, came away a bit shaken but apart from that, just a few scratches...... except for my Garmin Edge 800 which bore the brunt of a rather hard rock, smashing it's screen. The little fella was bravely beeping away on the inside, even though his screen was destroyed. Has anyone else cracked their 800 screen and what was the remedy/how much?

Yep, easy, check here- http://www8.garmin.com/support/outofwarranty.html

I cracked my screen about 2 months after I got it, the screen is usually not covered by warranty, but mine was a very small hardly visible crack and had software issues as well so I got it all done under warranty.
You cannot get parts for these so Garmin will generaly replace it with a refurbished unit.
It took 2 weeks tops to get mine there and back.

Hope it all works out
Cheers
Chad

OOPs, that's the USA repair link, you'll need to contact
Garmin Australia Customer Support: 1800 235 822.

I've broken my Edge 300 a couple of times. The customer support number I can never get through on but I always drop into their office in Seven Hills. They replaced the unit with a refurbished one for $120, which I thought was a pretty good deal.

Thanks Chad and Al: have been on hold for about 30 minutes now. Fingers crossed.

$259 for a refurbished model. Sounds reasonable.
