I'm *almost* back on the bike...

So after 5-ish weeks off the bike due to the broken wrist (scaphoid) I finally had the cast taken off yesterday!

Back on the stationary gym-bike today, and hoping to be back on the real bike in a few weeks time.
I'll need to, given the 10kg of beer-weight I've put on...

See you on the trails soon,
Don

Scaphoids are a bugger. With blood flow only to one end they take a long time.

I did mine on my first clipped-in tumble. Toppling sideways off a kerb onto the roadway didn't help, of course but I thought I'd just sprained my wrist. Little did I know... Long story short it took about 6 months to be fully pain free. Would have been much quicker had I twigged to it earlier. The lesson is, if you're going over and it's too late to stop it or clip out, don't stuck your arm and hand straight out, try to roll with the fall.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

yeah, this was also my first *decent* clipped-in tumble... about 2m onto rocks, and next time I think I'll just let my head take the impact Smiling
I was lucky that I broke the "good" end, so hopefully I'll be ok soon...

cheers!
