Bike and accessory talk. How do I fix my brakes? What's a good fork for me? Check out this hot bling! etc.

Fox CTD Fork

This is a question for anyone using a FOX CTD front fork.

It's got three modes, Climb, Trail, Decent. On mine I can't actually notice any difference between the T and D mode in the front fork. Is that how they are or might I have an issue with it? The C or lockout is fine but the T mode gives me full travel with the same resistance and feel as the D or full travel mode.

The rear suspension has a definite difference between T and D modes which makes me think the front should be the same.

Anyone with experience with these forks?

Wireless Electronic Dropper Post

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

So Apparently KS are developing a Wireless Electric powered Dropper Post. http://www.pinkbike.com/news/ks-electronic-wirel...

Seems this is the way that things are heading, with more and more electrical gear being integrated into bikes. EI rear shock, Di2 shifters now being added, plus the dropper post. One day someone is going to get an electric shock from shorting out while doing a river crossing. Upside is though, you may be able to use it to restart someone's heart during a heart attack!!

Racing Ralph Evos / Arch Rims combo

Hey, anyone had experience running Racing Ralph Evo version tubeless on Stan's Arch 29er rims?

Not so worried about the front tire, more the rear picking up sidewall damage or rolling off... There's not much to those sidewalls! Would it be safer to opt for the snakeskin variety on the back?

These are just pure dirt eating machines.....yes carbon is worth it and yes Santa Cruz bikes are worth every penny !

Luv this bike and the pike forks.....so smooth.

If you are thinking about getting one - just do it, you'll never look back.

Ultimate Taco?

This image has been going around a bit, but don't think anyone here has mentioned it.

Thought I'd share so we can discuss the possible causes and how to avoid such a situation yourself Eye-wink

Picking a stronger rim/spoke combo might help, or do you think rider error is completely to blame?

No more N+1

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Over the last 2 years or so I have subscribed to the N+1 theory. I think there has been about 7 bikes in that period.

But I came to the realisation a few months ago that you really can only ride one bike at a time... I found that I was riding one bike most of the time and maybe one other occasionally... so the rest sat in the corner collecting dust.

So I thought long and hard about what riding I really do. I needed a race bike... a top notch race bike... so along came the s-works epic http://nobmob.com/node/44528

drivechain 1x10 modification

Has anyone modified from 2x10 to 1x10 before? I am thinking to replace 36t single ring at front, the smallest I can get for 120bcd crank and add 42 tooth cog at rear. What does feel like? Enough low gear to climb hill? Do I need to adjust derailleur much? I don't really want to spend $1.2k for SRAM xo1 upgrade.

PS. My crank is race face next 28 x 40. Another question is if I can fit the single ring for smaller spider as assume bigger spider. Thanks. Photo attached.
