Tyre tubes ??

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

OK. Silly question.
I have size 26" 2.1 tyres on my MTB. Schwalbe Rapid Rob & Black Jack.

Do I get tubes size 1.7 - 2.1
or
size 2.1 - 2.6 ???

Apparently the Black Jack tyre is quite large for a 2.1. So I was thinking of getting the 2.1-2.6. But I don't want to get a tube too large.

Is there any benefit of getting one size over the other? Lower tyre pressure?

Thanks for your help.

I havn't bought a Mtb magazine for a couple of years now as most of the info i ever need and ever read is on the net.
Last Thursday i signed up for a subcription with Flow MTB, It's a new online Australian mag with regular updates and stories of current Mtb stuff in Oz and around the globe.

Hope Pro 2 freehub body

So I finally sat down to build up a bike.

Hope Pro 11 hubs with 9mm QR rear. The cassette tool is a tight fit between the inside of the lock ring and the 9mm spacer but does fit in. Do up the cassette lock ring. Wiggle the tool side to side to pull it off and the whole free hub body and cassette comes with it.

Hi i'm Matt 24 originally from the UK now residing in this beautiful country.

I want to start mountain biking again (used to ride everywhere on bikes when i was younger) to keep fit and have some fun meeting great people, plus i never did any off road trials before but it looks alot of fun.

What i am looking for is advice on the best place to start, obviously i need to get a bike first and then is it best to do a few trials on my own first or come to a meeting and ride with some of you guys?

Hi, new to MTB and after what tire pressure is recommended on these tyres? side wall markings are very vague...
Main use fire trails bike is a H/T if it makes a difference.
Thanks in advanced.

Anyone tried the SLX, XT or XTR shadow plus rear derailleurs ?

Just wondering if anyone have used the shadow plus rear derailleurs on their bike ?And what's the feedback if you have it ?
Supposedly it will give you silent rides, but heavier than the standard derailleurs and requires more maintenance.

Cheers,
Mario

Damaged mah Widgit :(

Bought a 32t Widgit a month or 2 back, and after examining it closely after things were running a little rough on Friday's ride, its all munted Sad

Its obviously seen some light damage to the guard, but not only are both sides of the guard 'tweaked' a little, but the chainring is too! Even my stock 42t shimano chainring with no protection has survived the same riding wonderfully for far longer.

Maybe it's my massive power that breaks frames and bends chainrings, but it just seems really odd that chainring is bent MORE than the guards?
Is it worth contacting Widgit?

Replacing Fork on 2010 Trance X2

The front fork on my Giant Trance X2 has some self induced issues and I'm looking to replace it.

Bike is: http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-au/bikes/model/...

I'm looking at this fork: http://www.foxracingshox.com/product.php?m=bike&...

Has anyone replaced the form on a 2010 Trance X2 before? What should I consider when replacing the fork on my bike?

I know it needs to be 15QR?
What about 1.5" steerer vs 1 1/8" taper steerer?

Also what tools will I need to do the job?

Thanks NobMobers. Appreciate any help you can give.
