Wannaride's North vs South Series Race 1 - BHP Appin 400
North end of Burke St, Appin. There's a small parking area here at the trail head next to the scout hall.
Note that the map shows Market Street connecting Appin Rd to this location but that is actually a firetrail and will not work for drivers who should take King St (next block South) and enter from there.
Race 1 of Wannaride's North vs South Series. The beautiful cross country trails of Appin will be the venue for 400 minutes (6 hr 40 min) of pure MTB fun. Come on out Sunday, August 15, 2010 and join the Wannaride crew for it's fourth year of racing. The team from BHP Billiton - Illawarra Coal is our generous sponsor for the event and with their help we are excited to put on another first class event. Over $30,000 in fantastic prizes from our sponsors is up for grabs for everyone out there.
Night Ride Terrey Hills
Park opposite/beside Terrey Hills shops, corner Booralie Rd/Yulong Ave. Or in the small carpark next to the RFS station & community centre.
Keen to get out and about and enjoy a friday night on the trails of Terrey Hills if anyone is keen to join. I am flexible on time and location around the Terrey Hills area so If any takers for a ride nominate and make your suggestion.
Oaks Trail Ride
Glenbrook station carpark.
Meet at Glenbrook, catch the train up and ride back to the cars including the single track at the end.
Due to track work the trains are leaving 30 minute later then the time table. This puts the train leaving Glenbrook at 8:53 and arriving around 9:23am at Woodford.
***This is also only on if the trail is re-opened for tomorrow as currently it is closed due to back burning.***
Edit: Just checked http://www.environment.nsw.gov.au/NationalParks/... and The Oaks is no longer closed.
Manly Dam Mountain Unicycle Ride & Demo
King Street (near corner with Arana Street), Manly Vale. You know - outside Manly Hydraulics Lab.
Hello guys and girls,
Night Ride Terrey Hills
Park opposite/beside Terrey Hills shops, corner Booralie Rd/Yulong Ave. Or in the small carpark next to the RFS station & community centre.
Just throwing it out there to see if anyone is keen to do a tomorrow tonight ? am looking at doing Perimeter and Cowan at this stage but can change depending on whether there are any takers. If No response by 4.00pm ride will possibly be cancelled and I will be heading off earlier, hopefully there will be some takers as I am keen to ride. It wont be a blistering pace just a nice social ride to enjoy the night.
Road Ride - West Head and Akuna Bay
Terry Hills Shops near the RFS Car Park
As discussed, West Head and Akuna Bay.
Meet at 8am at Terry Hills shops.
I am not super fit, so dont worry if your not a whippet on the road bike as the pace wont be electric.
XC Fun at Stromlo
The big car park near the event centre and toilets.
I am heading down to Canberra for work at the end of the week and decided to stay for a ride Saturday morning.
Planning a medium paced XC ride. Going up the switch backs and have a look at the course from the worlds, hamerhead etc. Then up the fire trail and to the observatory and back down skyline and the luge. Probably some of the blue trails from the map after that and whatever there is time for.
I am happy to go exploring if there a people with some more local knowledge.
Mid week Menai ride
OPPOSITE THE ENTRANCE TO ANSTO ON THE NEW ILLAWARRA ROAD, LUCAS HEIGHTS.
This week is Tuesday for me (wife deserves a cinema nigh with her girl friends)
You know this ride by now. A bit technical in places, a few pinch climbs here and there and some good flowing sniggle.
Not the ride for a beginner as it can be tricky in places, good lights will be needed and body armour is advised.
RNP Maintanence Day
Rangers office carpark on Farnell Ave. This is the second turnoff you'll come to right at the top of the hill down to Audley.
This is a trail maintenance day at Royal National Park May 15.
