Menai - regular Wednesday night ride again
OPPOSITE THE ENTRANCE TO ANSTO ON THE NEW ILLAWARRA ROAD, LUCAS HEIGHTS.
I'll be going earlier tonight now, due to lack of other participants, I'm not brave enough to face the spiders on my own. I've posted the ride for next week, hopefully someone will be interested!
Time to start dodging the spiders again at Menai on a regular basis now the weather is warming up. (I'm sure they've been effected by nuclear fallout from ANSTO, they seem twice as big as anywhere else)
For those that don't know Menai, there will be technical ups and downs, there are a number of rocky sections and new comers to night riding might find this a bit tough.
Duck + Centre Then in Reverse?
Park opposite/beside Terrey Hills shops, corner Booralie Rd/Yulong Ave. Or in the small carpark next to the RFS station & community centre.
I'm going a bit crazy with this weather. Planning on doing Duck & Centre and then in reverse. I think these are the best option after all this rain.
Redhill cruise
deep creek carpark at dog walking oval and ride up hill from there.
I am looking at doing a quick run of Redhill this afternoon will not be anything overboard or to intense as have already done a run up the hill this morning. Will be treating the run as a XC run and armour etc is optional, I will not be wearing any. If no joiners confirmed by 15:30pm ride I will be going alone.
bad day workout
small carpark next to the RFS station & community centre.
Just a last minute ride of Perimeter track at Terry Hills is approx 14km's can explore some other tracks if time permits. Is not going to be a hectic pace just a ride to get out and make the most of this bad weather.
social / fun ride ( exploring )
Bloodwood Road, Fiddletown heads up to the National Park. There's a sharp right bend by Marramarra Ridge Trail, with Coba Point Fire Trail shortly after (the proceeding sharp left). There's parking by either trail which are less than 1km apart, but the area by Coba Point Fire Trail is the go.
have never been up before and would like to explore the area. Looking at doing approx 20km it wont be a race just a social ride and a bit of fun, I have no problem stopping at any interesting sections and playing. Would be great if someone that knows the trail would join us. If no response by 8 am in the morning ride will be cancelled.
Cascades no lights
End of Wyatt Ave, Belrose - this is on the East side of Garigal National Park.
It has been a few weeks recovering from "bulged disk" and a sore heap, but on Sunday i did some firetrails and i am confident to ride again full throttle. I want to hit the down hill track at cascades, but in rality i am not fuzzy as long as it is mainly single trail. So suggestions to change the ride are wellcomed, not the time as i will be barely on time.
Thursday morning laps at ourimbah
North End of Red Hill Rd, Ourimbah State Forest. There's a large-ish parking area here, just off the main sealed road. There is also a smaller parking area a little further (400m or so from the road) where the trail splits - this second area is the usual meeting point. If you end up driving up a steep hill you've gone too far.
Got a work thing at the tree climbing place next door, thought i'd get a few sneaky laps in before that.
Night ride at at the RNP
Usually Loftus Oval, Sutherland, just off the Princes Highway.
****
yes I assume the reasons for .. are the fling coming up.. so cancelling till next week.
RNP for the Wednesday night ride..
You'll need good lights and thats about all .. the ride is quite simple.. just out and back along the various single tracks.
See you there.
RIDE: New Drivetrain = must ride: Red Hill
Red Hill Reserve car park, off Lady Penryhn Drive, Beacon Hill. Another option is to ride over here from Oxford Falls.
CANCELLED - NO INTEREST
Mid week DAY ride @ Cascades
End of Wyatt Ave, Belrose - this is on the East side of Garigal National Park.
If nobody confirms i may not be there, depending how i feel to ride cascades or something else, but hopefully someone comes along. i dont ride fast mind you, but i like the technical bits. If you have another sugestion let me know.
