High 35! Less than 1 minute to hit my target!

Felt really good today...bike running well after giving it a tweak yesterday... even got cadence working again. Rear tyre pressure low though...lost some time worrying about that.

Didn't push to hard on Heart break hill today. Think that gave me the legs to push on the fire trail to the single trail. Felt good up the hills to the golf course... OK.. I tried to push through the posts onto the golf course road... and did catchup my hand and go OTB.... only lost 15 seconds though Eye-wink

Blinding

Date:

Not a bad lap considering I was riding half blind due to the loss of a contact lense on the 1st lap. Climbed reasonably well and felt pretty happy with how I was riding as well. Can and will go quicker....

3rd lap on here:

Went and did some laps to check it out before the Rocky Trail race at the end of the month. It's definitely the sort of course where you can gain minutes by knowing the track. There are plenty of slow corners and I kept braking only to find I could have carried a lot more momentum. My first few laps were in the 25min range but steadily reduced as I got to know the course. I feel there is a lot more to gain as well. The top guys should get close to 15min.

The 'A' lines were great with some cool little techy bits but on race day it will be much quicker to take all the smoother 'B' lines.

Ten Dollar Dunger

Just picked this up from a neighbour. Was covered in sand, the rear derailleur and hanger both looked like they'd come second best from an encounter with a big rock, and the paint is peeling off the fork lowers in several places, but at $10 I can't complain.

Just add about an hour or so cleaning frame and straightening derailleur and wheels, cheapo Exustar flat pedals and I have a really functional neighbourhood ugly dunger. Deore shifters and FD, no-name V brakes, LX RD. Back end is 9-speed too. Smiling

So close to my target

Date:
6 Mar 11

Started from Wakehurst Parkway again, a big 4 minute improvement on my last try.
1:58 to the creek
5:03 to the top of heartbreak hill
18:30 to hydrolab
Forgot to check my watch for the rest.
My target was to get under 38 minutes for going to interschools at Thredbo but have now cancelled the idea going due to costs and lack of a team.

Another crack at it

Thought since others were improving times I would have a go too - was about 2mins ahead of my best after the road section but couldn't keep it going ended up about a minute better.

onwards and upwards

Date:

Its been 2 months since I did this hot lap so was hoping to go a couple of minutes faster. Ended up going just over a minute faster after problems with the rear brake on the downhill. On the positive side it should make it easier to go faster next time.

Ourimbah State Forest update for 05 Mar

Status:
Green/Open

A bit of light rain overnight made for great track conditions, with only a few puddles which were drying out by noon. Plenty of action there with the Specialized demo day in full swing.
