Withdrawn: Cannondale Taurine Frame!

Note that this is "Withdrawn" so is here for archive purposes only.
Price:
400.00

2008 Taurine carbon frame.
i bought this second hand over a year ago and built it up as a fully rigid singlespeed and have only ridden it three times so i'm breaking it down to sell it and some of the parts.
frame has no cracks but has the usual chips and scratches.
the bottom bracket is a bb30 but has an adaptor sleeve and a truvativ standard BB.
it doesn't come with a Derailer hanger so one will need to be purchased after sale.
P.M. me for any queries.
p.s. i bought two of these frames and had one resprayed, well worth the consideration as i'm more than happy with the resprayed one!

Training tip: Never race 3x weeks after Xmas

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

I was fully pumped, had trained hard and was ready to smash out an angry 100km's for the Alpine Assault ... back on Dec 12th. So when the race was rescheduled for Jan 16th I thought I'd just pick up where I left off. As it turns out I had plenty of time to ponder a great deal of 'What if ... ' scenarios as I plodded along the 100km of steep, rocky alpine trail. What if I hadn't drunk so much fine wine and icy cold beer over the Xmas Xtravaganza ? What if I had got out of bed a few more times to train instead of sleeping in ?

A bit of adventure finished off with some hot hills

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

I decided to do this race as it was the only 100k race left in 2010 after I cramped badly in the fling. Having done two 100k races and cramped in both I was keen to try some different approaches and hopefully get through without cramps.

When they postponed the race in December due to some flash flooding I got a first hand appreciation for the level of challenge in this race during what they called a "social ride". To try and put things in perspective if the fling gets a 7 for difficulty this race is a 9 out of 10. Don't get me wrong, I love the fling and its a great race however:

New Helmet?

That's the question do I need a new one? Had my front tyre wash out on me at the very end of my 2nd lap round the Dam on Saturday. Took a chip out of inner part at the front (possibly whats still in my forehead). I'm guessing technically the answer is yes?

If so, any good recommendations, I tend to use one helmet for both road and mtb so it has to suit both looks Eye-wink

Security alert for Sydney CBD bike commuters

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

After Sasc and nickovalentino had their bikes stolen from under their building at North Sydney last week, it looks like the bike thief scum have moved into the CBD. Just got this email late this afternoon:

Dear All,

Early this morning EQ Management’s Security Team managed to deter an intruder from entering the B1 Bike Cage.

The incident has been reported to the Police and Group Security.

A general reminder to all staff that utilise these facilities to ensure that no valuables or bikes be stored overnight.

Capital Punishment in Canberra, another chance to tear your legs off.

100k or a Cheeky 50k...

Capital Punishment is a 50km and 100km mountain bike enduro.

The Capital Punishment course will take in the best of the Canberra single tracks including Kowen Forest, Majura Pines, Black Mountain and Mt Stromlo. These famous single tracks will be linked via fire trails with only the minimum necessary bitumen. Note that for the 2011 event, Sparrow Hill is unlikely to be included. We are hoping this area will be available again in 2012.

Does a Hope Bottom Bracket fit a 2007 Specialized Enduro?

Hi parts gurus...

I am planning to replace/upgrade the Bottom Bracket for my 2007 Specialized Enduro Pro Carbon. This is the first ever change to the BB, so I was wondering if the Hope Bottom Bracket MTB - Ceramic with 68/73mm shell fits this Carbon frame? The measured width of my frame is ~ 73 mm. Current BB is Shimano stock.

I was planning to get it from CRC http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/M...?ModelID=...

Thank you in advance.

Got bored on the weekend

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

I'd picked up a carbon frame a while ago to lose a bit of weight, give a bit more cockpit space and provide a more compliant ride than my XTC. Swapping all of the parts across took a few hours and with the exception of a seat-post shim ($5 from CRC) everything just transferred straight across. I don't think there are any parts from the original Giant left (maybe the stem) so it's a bit of a 'grandfathers axe'
