How much suspension do you need at the Dam?

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

My bike is now in the shop for a warranty claim for a cracked frame. I had a QUICK look around for alternatives if things go bad with my claim and came across the Giant Anthem but it has only a 100mm of suspension against my current bikes 140mm. If I was to replace my bike I would like to go lighter but don't want to spend a bomb. Toying with the idea to buy the base model Anthem 3 and then add all my XTR goodies & wheels to take prob a kilo out of the bike and get it to 11.7kgs from my current 12.7 kgs of my Norco and the 12.6 kgs for the Anthem 3.

Injuries and keeping fit - any tips?

So yesterday morning the inevitable happened. I lost the rear end on a wet corner. Luckily it was on a quiet backstreet. A 4hr visit to Manly Hospital revealed a broken shoulder blade and other bangs, knocks and scrapes. It should heal ok and quickly too but I was wondering what does everyone else do to stay in shape whilst they can't be on the bike? Any tips for exercise and diet?

Cheers
Phil

IT'S POSSIBLE!!

Short story - the best Per/LT conditions ive ridden in 3 years. Fast and flowing. Every little stick looks like it's moving when your busting your lungs!!! Saw what looked like 2 other NOBMOBers setting Hotlaps of their own. Should see great times from them too! Now for a well earned scotch and coke, i mean powerade or something...
Breakdown of split times: 14.30 to Long Trail, 24.45 to the lookout, 32.40 to Perim Trail. 48.41 to gate.

Carpool for Mountains to Beach - Sydney to Narooma/Threadbo.

Hi Guys. If anyone is doing the Mountains to Beach in late February and has a spare seat going from Sydney to Narooma, or from Sydney to Threadbo, please let me know.

I have a ride back sorted out, but getting to the start is proving a challenge.

Thanks....Greg.

Ourimbah State Forest update for 07 Jan

Status:
Amber/Some Issues

Did 1 lap this morning. The track is wet and should be ok this afternoon if it doesn't rain any more. There is a tree down before the approach to the big dipper. I tried to ride under it, collected my shoulder knocking me on my ass. My suggestion now would be to get off to walk under it.

Pic below of the damage Sad
