New Pivot Mach 5.7

Finally something to fill the gap between the Mach 5 and Firebird. Mach 5 is actually being replaced altogether...

What really causes erosion?

The attached pictures were take on Sunday 8 August 2010 and emailed to me couple of days ago. They were taken by a walker, walking round the walking track at Manly Dam.

Manly Dam is one of the few places in the area with legal single track and as you would expect, this means that there is no evidence of riders being tempted to go elsewhere (when legal riding is supplied there is no reason to ride illegally). IE. there is no evidence of any riding on these tracks from the pictures.

Garmin question

I am new to this Garmin caper and have a question about 'elevation'. I have a Garmin 310XT Forerunner and when reviewing a ride the other day I noticed an option at the base of the garmin page that said enable 'elevation corrections'. Now it seems I have been undercooking my hill training ! The new data has almost halved the elevation gains. I know the 310 isn't the most sophisticated piece of equipment but which data set is more accurate ? What is the difference between the two settings ? After reading the posts on The Angry Doctor I may need to set a new training agenda !

Late notice but thought I'd post this in case anyone else is fortunate enough to have the day off. I have not been on the mtb for about a month and haven't ridden any bike for about a week so this won't anything too quick but I do not intend to make many stops and those that I do make hopefully won't be for too long. Not 100% sure of the route as yet but something like http://nobmob.com/node/16497. Time is flexible but would like to give myself enough time to go until I cannot go any more.

word of warning Angry Doc is very very hard

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Well with the Angry Doc just around the corner I have been thinking about the angry doc a bit lately.
from the two previous times I have raced this it has hurt me big time. Cramps were my biggest enemy.
Now its not like I don't do much racing so I know a bit about pacing myself and training, I thought i would give a couple of words of advice to help people get through the day.

What has happeend to the SS 'cult'?

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Depending on the way you view them (love or hate?) it's always sad for a 'cult' of any kind of once trendy fashion - the day your average punter takes what was once an icon of cool and makes of mockery of it.

The cult of SS (single speed) that has been growing in popularity really crossed that line for me today.

New rear shock, where can Iget one?

Hi all

As a newbie to Sydney, living on the North side of the bridge, my Fox float rear shock has died sadly. Sad

I'd appreciate any guidance on where I can go to get a new one, and approximate cost. Is there anything as good as Fox for a little cheaper etc?

Thanks
