The Oaks Up & Back

When:
Saturday, 17 July, 2010 - 09:30

The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.

Ride Database Entry:
The Oaks
Meeting Point:

Glenbrook station carpark.

Show on Google maps: Meeting point. Login or register to get directions.

I plan on doing The Oaks up & back as a training ride as the trails on the Beaches could do with more time to dry out. I am not sure of exactly how long but have put 4 hours as a guess.

Garmin Edge 705

Hi guys I'm after some advise. i just picked up a Garmin Edge 705 but am confused as to loading maps. I've done some research and Shonkymaps keeps popping up as the candidate for the topo maps. Can I load turn by turn mapping as well so I can use as a navigational GPS (for driving) as well as topo maps? What have those with this unit done? Any advise appreciated - Steve

Lane Cove National Park update for 11 Jul

Status:
Green/Open

A few puddles here and there but definitely OK to ride. All the major track work seems to be finished and tracks have been reopened. A couple of the stepper sections have been concreted.

Will start fresh next time

Date:
10 Jul 10

Damn... saw the timer coming up Centre and really wanted to go sub 35 but somehow couldn't do it.

Lap 3 here...

... after DH+C+P+L. I mean, this hot lap was second DH+C of the day. Fresh legs might help next time... well, that's my excuse and sticking to it Eye-wink
