Angry Doctor 100km first time - advice needed.

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Well, I've been riding for a while, but not this far. I ride for fun at Awaba and Ourimbah, but this 100km event has me a little worried. 50km would be fun! 100km? Why did I bother listening to you Andrew..... So, any advice?

1- Is there overtaking/passing etiquette?

2 - Do I really need some vasoline?

3 - Dust mask?

4 - Extra equipment to carry besides chain lube, tyre puncture repair kit, etc ?

Wingello State Forest update for 02 Jul

Status:
Green/Open

Took a lap around the Red ring on Wednesday. It was in good condition and no water on the trails. Well worth the trip down there.

Do you have more information?

Lane Cove National Park update for 02 Jul

Status:
Amber/Some Issues

There is now one major track closure (the old major concreted hill climb off the track that links up Browns Waterhole and Robin Ave in South Turramurra). This limits your options to string together any nice flowing loops without a fair bit of portage. I don't think I will be aiming to ride here for a few weeks. The bridge that was washed away has yet to be replaced, however it can now be ridden, so it's not much of an issue. The rest of the track seems to have drained well. Also rode around the back of the university on the single trail, which has grown over a lot.

New event??

From BlackHeart Events:

"Keep your eyes peeled in the coming weeks for a big announcement on a future event. 100km? 100 miles? Bigger? All will be revealed soon, but it's going to be a corker!"

Interesting....

Email response to wet weather

I sent an email a couple weeks back when we had all the wet weather about the fact that the dam wasnt actually closed, finally got a response.

Apparently all that rain, hadn't "adversley affected the track".

Lefty Hub with QR

Something new that has been developed. Good if you have a lefty and need to remove your wheel for transport.

Anyone ridden Red Hill lately?

Just wondering what is the state of the trails? Seeing it's been dry for a week or so, hopefully it's ok.
