Yet more press coverage:

I said (yes, this is getting comical):

In theory the landfill site might make a nice riding venue. However, back in 2001 it was scheduled for closure in 2005. I understand that date has since been pushed back to mid-2010 at the earliest - a date hardly likely to be kept as WSN now proposes that an extra 180,000 tonnes of landfill be dumped here. Given the constant slippage in this date how can the community possibly rely on what might happen there?

Slicks for my 29er MTB

Hi Gang, I want to get another set of wheels for my 29er mtb and put a set of slicks on them - I love it so much I dont want to ride my roady anymore! Smiling

Any recommendations for a good quality strong set of rims and also good slick tyres?

Also, slightly off topics, I put my Woodford to Glenbrook ride up on www.videotime.com.au for those of you who are interested. 58 mins ride time.

Cheers

Another interesting article:

I replied,

Sorry, but I find Mr Cox's comments hypocritical.

There are many places in National Parks where walkers have carved hundreds of steps into the sandstone. Eg. Giant Stairway (Blue Mountains), from the North of Banry Bay down to the water (Garigal), North end of Warrimoo Track (Ku-ring-gai), etc, etc.

I don't know what damage Mr Cox is talking about, but whatever it is cannot even come close to the above examples.

OVERALL
I’d not ridden for 2 weeks due to health and rain. Struck down with the flu two weeks ago, I was sure I’d be fine by this event. I started to feel much better 1-2 days prior but am still far from 100%. My race time of 1:03 is faster than last year (1:07) but not close to my easily achievable goal of under 1 hour. If you divide my position (324) by the total active riders (578) and multiply by 100 you get 56. Which means I came 56/100. That’s a significant worse than last year (34/100). My ranking has slipped by 22% effectively.
