Terrey Hills

When:
Wednesday, 12 March, 2008 - 19:15

The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.

Ride Database Entry:
Terrey Hills / Duffys Forest
Meeting Point:

Terrey Hills Tavern (carpark adjacent to the bottle shop)

I can't make the earlier Cascade rides, so this one is a little later.

Will be looking just to spin the legs so will be riding the road to the Japanese School, then doing the Perimeter and Long tracks.

It's about 25k's, lights are essential and the pace will be moderate.

Bike Thief Movie

Kind of funny really. They prove how easy it is, OR how unsafe locking it up is. Maybe we are a little safer here but can't be all that much different.

MacGyver project - Jekyll remote rear lockout

I'd like to fit a remote lockout for the rear shock on my Jekyll. The shock's down quite low and hard to reach while riding.

Any ideas on how I could MacGyver a bar-mounted lockout lever for a Fox Float RL?

The ones I've seen as aftermarket kits don't fit the because of the unusual trunion shock attachment system used on the Jekyll. Ideally I'd like to be able to use all three lever positions - open, locked, and in-between.

Your thoughts are most welcome!

Wingello, Penrose or other

Next week I'm in Robertson (half way between Kiama and Moss vale)
I think I can swing one full day for 'proper' mtb'ing
For someone with not much sense of direction (I can follow trails or arrows) should I head for Wingello or Penrose state forest. These are the one's that sound familiar. Or is there somewhere closer to R'son.
And where would I find some info (like maps, directions etc) on getting to and around on the trails - I have googled but not much info.
Thanks for any advice.

chain advice -

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

I've been mountain bike riding for a about 6 months & had my first break down, as in i couldn't ride anymore, on the track a couple of days ago.
I've snapped my chain, so thought i would replace it.
I didn't have a chain breaker or "quick link" parts with me to fix it, know next time.

My bike is a 9 speed trek with deore derailleurs, there is no damage anywhere else.
It was a SRAM chain.
All the gears are still in good shape, front chain wheel & cassette(SRAM PG950), & i lubed chain etc regularly.

MONT 2008 (the real one, not the Scott)

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

I haven't seen the dates for this yet but guess it's in October as usual (the end of?). I'm with a couple of guys but we're looking to build a team of 6 weekend warrior types (whippets welcome but don't expect to win given the team averages!) and looking for some game guys or gals. The new track was awesome last year and should be sweet as again this year.....Let me know if you're interested and I'll keep you posted. Entries open (and pretty much close) in June I think..
