More Ikea Bike Rack Ideas
This is cool, it looks good and is much cheaper than the Minora alternative (Stolmen posts are 55 bucks here in Aus):

We actually use the Broder system which is slightly cheaper and have two of those (Broder) poles in the garage. This one (Stolmen) looks nicer if you want things inside though.
We may have even chosen Stolmen before, but it didn't have bike holders, the above article shows how easy they are to DIY though, very nice.

Hey, put this in your 'ToDo' list:

The peak on the ridge just West of this is called Mount Sugarloaf... that'd be a nice challenge (about 350m vertical)!

Bar Ends - Advice Required
Hey NobMob.
Some questions regarding bar ends for those with any experience.
Q1: Do they attached over the grips? Or more logically to the handlebar itself?
Q2: If they do attach to the handlebar, do you a) Cut the current set of grips to make room or b) Move everything else in towards the centre of the bar? Or c) Do you need special new grips?
Q3: Other than an increased chance of random stray tree branches pulling you off your bike, what are the other possible downsides of installing bar ends on your bike?
Cheers,
Lance.
PS Any brand suggestions?

Dam AGAIN!

A mate of mine who had his bike stolen is taking a test ride so I am going with him - he hasn't ridden for a bit so we won't be hooning, plus, of course, i seem to spend an inordinate amount of time on my side lately attached to the bike which tends to slow the pace down!
We have to ride this late because he has to pick up the bike first...naturally!
I am riding down to meet him there - how brave in those stupid cleats...lucky I am not known for my superior intelligence!
