Quitting Smoking (was Looking forward to it)

Weather should be fine.

Hey Kath, I read that you quit smoking. I did that 7 months ago. The riding is awesome for it. Flushing all that water through while exercising and learning bike technique all at the same time, it's great.

Working Week partner

Anyone interested in riding next weekend as a pair in round 2 of the Working Week series? http://www.brightorangeevents.com/
Can't quite face doing 8 hours solo, but would like to push hard for 4.
Can provide lift if required.

Trainer

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Anyone intrested in an indor trainer.
I have a CycleOps Mag trainer which I bought when I broke my finger so I could at least stay fit but found it a bit boring to say the least. I then thought I might keep it for when it rains but I actually prefer getting out on the road bike even in the rain.

I will also throuh in a training block and mountain bike workout dvd normally sold seperately new all up it cost about $360.00 I have used it only about ten times so it is in tip top condition I would be happy with $150.00 and can deliver it to one of the nobmob rides.

Bike recommendation & Giant Trance X

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

G'day,

I'm quite keen to get a proper bike and join you guys for some rides on the northern beaches which I've never done and of course do more of the Anderson/Oaks classics which I've done about 5 times on a cheap Trek bike Laughing out loud

So I'm looking for some recommendations here with a budget around $2500. I need disk brakes, dual suspension.

I come from France where my favorite brands come from so my choice is bit more limited here.

Cannondale Jekyll 2000

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Cannondale Jekyll 2000 - $900 ono. I know it's not a new bike but is still in very good condition and would be excellent as a beginner bike because it handles well and is much lighter than a new bike at similar price. Was $5,500 new.

Components include:
• Frame size - small
• Hayes hydraulic disc brakes
• XT shifters
• XT front and rear derailleurs (rear near new)
• New cassette, chain and middle chain ring
• Front shock - Cannondale Lefty
• Rear Shock - Fox float RC
• Rims - Sunrims DSI - XC
• Front tyre - near new Michelin dual compound

The Oaks

Hi Everyone,

Last minute notice but a mate and I are doing the Oaks and St Helena's on Friday, he's never done St Helena's. The plan is to catch the 15:06 train from Glenbrook get off at Woodford, go down the oaks with a detour of St Helena's (there and back again) come back onto the Oaks and head down.

Yep its definitely Friday too!

Should be a technical ride with lots of silliness when it isn't technical.
