Fling = Big regret
Hey guys, firstly I’d like to take my hat off to all those that finished the full Fling, as now I know in first hand how hard it really is (much…. much harder than I ever thought).

Fling for me
This was The Fling for me, did the 110 option ( didn't know you could do only 100?!)
This was different race to the one I did two years ago, it's 110kms and it's a long, long day.
Threat of rain as of last week so was pretty apprehensive. I had a spare pair of socks and gloves and light rain jacket all ready to take in my pack. Woke up Sunday morning and not a cloud in the sky! Yeehaa! Walked around outside and the ground wasn't too wet either, this was looking good.

Fling Minus Some
Two weeks after The Mont and back we go to another field full of tents for some more race fun. Here's how the 2007 Fling went for Rob...
Aside from not getting a decent nights sleep (due to roasting hot sleeping bag inside chilly tent - too hard to get the temperature 'just so') everything ran smoothly on Saturday and Sunday morning. Seemed to be timing things just right, from arriving, setting up and giving the bike a once over to rolling up at the start with 10 mins to go.

DH forks, marzocchi 66 vs Fox 40's
Hi,
I'm riding a giant glory0 (the free-ride model). It currently has a pair of Marzocchi 66SL 1 ATA Air, 140-180mm. And i'm thinking of putting on some Fox 40's... Cause I reckon I would be better of with some fat double crown forks to lift the front end a bit higher...
Does anyone have any advice on this idea? Do you think its worthwhile? Are dual crown forks that much better than single??
Cheers,
Nik

MWMTB STXC & Cyclo-cross
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
St Ives Showground
Last time I convinced Rob to take his Celeste Indulgence off-road it ended in tears, lets see if he's prepared to give it a go in it's more natural environment (sans 1000's of screaming drunk Belgians).
CX racing will start at 6:30 & is preceded by Short Track XC - the event described by Paul Rowney as the Hurricane of Pain! Come to race or just to watch the Spectacle.

Erm... quick... don't look now but seems like there's this Christmas time coming.
Seems the thing to do about now is arrange a BBQ!

Any takers? Any preference on the dates? Perhaps I should contact Nicole and see if there's space!
