Withdrawn: Commencal Supreme 6 Mini DH Bike

Note that this is "Withdrawn" so is here for archive purposes only.
Below is a preview, click to read the full post
Price:
1,600.00

Sooooo, late last year I got a little too excited and thought I might become a downhiller of sorts, and I purchased this beautiful Mini DH bike direct from Commencal in Andorra. Well life has proved to be a worthy adversary and I have failed to take this bad boy to the trails. It has been assembled and ridden around my cul-de-sac once and that's it: basically fresh-out-da-box! It is too good a bike to be simply minding a spot in my shed.

If you would like to get into some DH/Free-ride/All-Mountain/ Slopestyle/Bike-park riding, then please take a look at this Orange weapon! $1600 o.n.o!

Wanted: 29" rear wheel

Price:
150.00

My rear wheel has just about had it, so I'm looking for a temporary replacement until I can get the cash for a decent wheelset. If anyone has an old wheel in the shed and is willing to sell, let me know. Nearly forgot, I'm after a 6 bolt disc mount and to fit a 10spd cassette.
Thanks, Pete.

Mont 2014, 24 Laps in 24 Hours

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

For the Mont 2014 my uncle has set the task of trying to complete 24laps in 24hours, as either a 6 or 4man team.
Currently he is not super fit, but wants to try and push for this to help him into shape and really see what he can do. I am not sure this is achievable for a bunch of average joes with other things going on in their lives, but he seems pretty committed.
so i ask:
How much training did you do, and how many laps did your team do this year?

He is thinking that if we are doing 300km (road and MTB) a week for a month or two before the event then we should be able to do it.

Female riders Northern Sydney

My girl has just got into MTB riding and when she cant ride with me she is looking for girls to ride with, she is not yet fully bike fit but is working on it so not looking for race pace or anything like that. She has just been riding the Perimeter and Long tracks but now has a new bike so we can advance onto other trails.
so if there are any girls out there looking for a riding companion sing out!

Here is one for the Sydney commuters

This is a pretty cool vid from rideable.org.au which has used actual random GPX to compile commuter routes to work.

Enjoy!

Night Riding Advice

A few questions about night riding:

1. Do many people ride Manly Dam at night?
2. If I did a couple of laps of Manly Dam would I see anyone out? What are the chances?
3. Unfortunately it looks like I will have to ride solo as no one else is keen, what precautions should i take?
4. I know Manly Dam really but will I find it hard going at night?
5. Any other advice/tips?

Thanks alot.

Wanted: MTB frame - small size

I'm after a small sized frame to build up a new bike for my wife.
Needs to be able to take a 120mm fork and external BB. With the headset would be ideal but not essential.
Thinking hardtail but would consider a dually.

Red loop using the B line up Camel back climb. Longer but just as hard, I reckon.

I'll do a blog entry tomorrow when I'm not as tired!
