Riding OMV when the trails are closed

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Well done to the several riders ignoring the trail closed signs and riding OMV this morning !!!

I'm sure the trail builders/maintenance crew, and the local council alike, will applaud your well thought
out descision to ride while conditions are unsuitable and the trails closed.

And judging by the fact they were riding expensive bikes, wearing lycra, jerseys and clips - you'd think
they would have know better...

There were "Trail Closed" signs all over the place, and even plastic meshing over some of the trail entry
points!!!

Anyone bought gear from Bike Bling or Blue Sky Cycles?

Just wondering if anyone has used Bike Bling or Blue Sky Cycling. Are they reputable and trust worthy?

Seat post views?

After a seat post to take some of the jarring out of the hardtail and give me 50+ back some relief. Anyone tried the carbon flexi seat posts? Someone put me onto the Syntace P6 carbon flex seat post and by all reports, looks to be what I am looking for. Just wondering if anyone here has bought one? They are pretty expensive, but worth the relief I imagine.
cheers

Hi - New Forum Member

Hi Everyone,

New to this forum, and to Australia in general. I'm a Kiwi, but we moved from Vancouver, Canada to Sydney in April last year (sometimes I still ponder why we left all that glorious singletrack and power snow behind....)!

The Oaks update for 04 Mar

Area:
The Oaks
Status:
Amber/Some Issues

After not riding for 2 weeks in a row I NEEDED to get out for a ride yesterday regardless of rain. I figured the Oaks fire trail would be a good option. I spoke the ranger on arriving at the parking lot in Glenbrook and he warned that the causeway was flooded but it's still fine to ride the trail, so we did Smiling
Causeway is under about a foot or so of water. 3 guys before us rode it, but we walked across before commencing a very satisfying half up and back (to the helipad and back).
Firetrail is fine to ride, no issues at all.
Sniggle is wet, but still very good but very greasy toward the end rocky parts.

Do you have more information?

If you've ridden here lately please add a more recent report. This will be useful even if the condition is the same as updates expire after 30 days.
