State Forests Closed 18/01/13
There are State Forest closures tomorrow. I also had clarification today that Ourimbah is the Central Coast and not the Hunter and the previous media release last weekend should have also stated the Central Coast.

Red Hill Help - where are these photos taken?
HI Guys
I think I've ridden most of the trails at Red Hill, but I've never come across these sections featured on NoBMob (or maybe they look very different now?) Can anyone help point out where they are?
is this

Thanks new 29er and no traffic, no angry birds, just an old guy puffing like a steam train.
PB riding new anthem advanced 1 29er. So much easier than the old 2005 Reign, its totally like cheating. Go Lance...

New Server Sponsor
Just a quick note to let everyone know that we've just moved server to a new site sponsor.
Please give a give round of applause to the very nice people at Demon-Host
As part of the migration I took the opportunity to update a few bits of the site software too. Everything looks to be running smoothly, but it may be that the software rodents have missed something. Please mention it ASAP if you see any problems or unusual behaviour.

Red Hill for a noob - help wanted
Hi guys, i'm new to the forums recently returned to the MTB world and just wanted some advice.
I live in Narrabeen and work in Frenchs Forest so have started riding to and from work - I don't feel comfortable riding on the wakehurst so i'm going via willandra road (gee thats a fun hill).
I'm keen to add some offroad to my home trip and Red Hill seemed like the perfect place for it. Having read the info on NOBMOB it sounds like its actually quite technical and difficult - so i'm a little hesitant to go it, particularly as i'll be hitting it solo.

Withdrawn: Specialized Enduro Expert for sale
Mostly stock bike. Has heel rub marks and some scratches as pictured. Note minor scratch on fork stanchion.
Very capable bike, will look after you going down and do light DH/FR. Taught me all I know about Red Hill and the older Oxy loops.
Large frame: Little use for last 2 years since I built up a 2010 Santa Cruz Chameleon using same model fork, lots of love before that.
Shock: Fox DHX 5.0 Air. More suited to gravity than XC. Great shock, the only poor reviews were XC focused.
Brakes: Juicy 7
Front wheel: Sun SOS, never needed truing!
Rear DR: newer X9

Cascades update for 15 Jan
The little bit of rain has taken the edge of the sand / loose gravel. Rode Heath & Quarry and were both in top condition.
Be careful on those Heath water bars though... found a guy 1/2 way down who had been kicked off one of the larger bars and was bleeding from both knees and elbows. Stopped to chat and said he and bike were OK. My mate also busted his elbow (and iPhone) on a recent ride.
Problem seems to be the water bar kicking the rear wheel up and sending people OTB. At the 40K - 50K speeds you can hit on Heath this ain't good. Anyway, enjoy... just watch the speed if you don't know the trail well.
