Question - Chain length

Quick general question, if I change my crank say from a 44 - 30 to a 40 - 28, do I need to change the chain length?

Thanks for any advice.

I am just posting in hope that someone can set me up with someone who can fix my rear derailleur cables for me (from what i have researched it is a simple process if you know what your doing). The problem is that the bike shops seem to be clogged up until after the school hols, and i have been looking forward to riding since ages and ages ago. Then mu cable snapped last week and i am now felling absolutely terrible. Any solutions are very welcome.

Thanks in advance (hopefully Eye-wink )

My first Awaba Hotlap. Turned out to be an expensive one.

Second Lap. Pushed much harder this time as had a bike shop rider behind me... Did my best superman for some time after JUST clipping a tree. No damage to me... As for the bike... different story. Still managed sub 40 though. This is a great track for Hot Laps - pity its so far away for us N.Beaches guys...

Jamis Dakar XAM to relpace SX Trail

Has anyone had any experience with these frames? I can't seem to find much information about them, which leads me to believe they are probably not that good.

This is the frame in questions : http://www.jamisbikes.com/usa/thebikes/fullsuspe...

I'm thinking of replacing my 2006 SX Trail frame with a 2009 Dakar XAM frame which looks to be a little more all mountain capable than the SX Trail which is more freeride/park oriented. The Dakar frame and shock is almost 2Kg lighter than the SXT frame, but loses 20mm in travel (150mm vs 170mm).

Price:
4,500.00

Large Team Carbon team bike with a 2011 X0 groupset, SID XX forks and Hope Pro3/Crest wheelset.

In immaculate condition.

More than happy to discuss options like bars, saddle etc to suit potential buyers.
Indeed, if agreeable terms can be found then swapping out for parts off new bike could definately be arranged too like the DT Swiss Forks, wheelset or even XX groupset. Pretty much whatever takes your fancy.

Workstand

Hi guys,

Getting old and taller… I can't bend anymore like I use to.
Thought about buying a workstand.

I got the choice of a $169 on Torpedo7: http://www.torpedo7.com.au/products/T7WKWNN60/ti...
or a ~$50-70 on eBay: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/150664989285?ssPageNa...

Do you think the stand on eBay is a piece of sh*t, that will be good to use only 2-3 times?

Blue loop

Once again, I fully expect my lap time to be at the 'not so pointy end' of the list once the whippets post their time Eye-wink

The proof is here but don't look at the riders above me! They were on motorbikes!
