Duck Hole/Terrey Hills Trail update for 13 Aug
Slowly drying out - Very rideable! Better than last week even though the area has had close to 10mm over the week.
Still lots of rocks as you would expect. Arrived at the bottom with a relatively clean bike...

150mm travel not enough ??
Can anyone offer some advice please.
Was riding last weekend and tackling some good size jumps with mates and my 150mm of rockshox revelation fork and monarch shock couldn't handle it and bottomed out. If I put more air in both the fork and shock, do you think that will give me more resisitance and eliminate the bottoming out ?? Or will it be too stiff and not allow an pre-load of the bike ??
Any thought will be welcomed. Thx.

Anthem X colour schemes
Nov 2010 I sold my soul to get an Anthem X3. Although only entry level she's been a lovely bike. I've loved riding her around Manly Dam, Cascades, Red Hill & so on. But recently, I discovered a massive crack. No problem. Lifetime Frame warranty. Off it went back to the LBS where I purchased her. Replacement was approved by Giant except that they didn't have a replacement X3 frame. I was offered an upgrade to the X2 frame. Who? What? The bike is merely 8 mths old ? I now have to have a Grey red frame with mismatched blue & white bits from my X3.

Cleats
Today I went for a ride on an old bike of mine. Just for fun I decided to test tighting my pedals (this was a road ride by the way). It seemed that with tighter pedals that i was able to go much faster, or was it just me?
I'm just wondering if i was imagining it. Anyway whats the point of having really tight shoes if you cant get out of them and crash (my shoes are really lose).
Thanks

Road/footpath rules
While riding to work on Tuesday i decided to hop onto the footpath for safety sake due to the traffic while going through part of Brookvale. Coming up to a pedestrian crossing (still 30m away) an SUV, waiting for a walker to cross before driving through, was staring at me intently, he then drove into the pedestrian crossing, stopped and starting honking his horn and screaming at me.

Wanted: Risk assessment expertise
We're trying to assist some local riders trying to keep their unofficial Dirt Jump facility. One of the local councils is very keen to come to the party, but one of the issues they face is getting their insurer to come to the party with them.

Terrey Hills update for 10 Aug
The first 1.5km section of Perimeter trail between Nerang Ave & Booligal Rd really should be avoided, as the clay surface is retaining water (I'd mark this section as RED/closed). A few MTB (& horses) have been through this section & have ripped the sh$# out of the track. From the look of it, will take a few weeks to dry. Easy enough to start from the Booligal Rd entrance, & avoid further damage.
The rest of Perimeter from Booligal Rd & up the Long Trail are dry, with only a few dodgy patches that can easily be ridden around.
