My Tyre History

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

When I bought my Trance and it came with Michelin XCR AT folding 2.0". These only lasted 2 months before I blew the sidewall out. Since then I have mainly run Maxxis Crossmarks LUST 2.1 front and rear except for a short time when I had an Ignitor LUST 2.1 on the front. I run about 30-32 psi front and rear and it has always been a good combination but decided to go for a complete change to see how others perform.

Appin update for 28 Jan

Area:
Appin
Status:
Green/Open

A fantastic hidden trail. Hat goes off to the trail fairies that built this. Although its only 9.5km, I was blowing hard by the time i finished. There are sections of short sharp climbs that require explosive bursts of power that will drain most by the end. Also, the sandy base makes you work a bit harder on the flats and inclines. The big rock roll over going onto the bridge is the highlight (among many highlights) of the ride. I went back and did it 3 times just for laughs Eye-wink
The trail is in excellent condition as the sandy base drains well and doesn't seem to be subject of run off or rutting. There are a few big sticks on the trail from strong winds but nothing major. Sign posting could be better for those that don't know the area but for those able to sniff out a bit of single track it won't be a problem.

Ouch...

Coming down the last section of the Dam before the hydro lab and my front tyre washed out. Feels like I have burnt my arm as I slid down the board walk Sad. I also took skin off my leg and have just noticed a decent egg sized lump forming on my knee.

Kev came off trying to avoid me and while I was sitting there (off the track) recovering another guy crashed at the top. I was contemplating wearing my arm pads but decided to leave them in the car.
