Mogo Dylan
"What the hell am I doing this for again?"

It all came back to me after 20 kays in... "Hang on, this is bloody terrible". There are plenty of excuses I could use for the way I was feeling, getting a flat, screwing up my food royally, running out of water, getting a virus the week before.. the bottom line is this is a mother of an event. I had just forgotten.

What could've been...

Date:
13 Sep 09

Started steady from the Golf Club entrance, just rolling along swiftly, but not really fast.
By the top of heartbreak hill, was feeling good, so ramped it up along the top and down to the lab.
Pretty well smashed it back up the hill, and up to the start.
If I'd known it was going to be a fast one, would certainly have come in well under 32..... next time Smiling

D'Oh!

Was a great ride as the first mtb ride back for years! Great track and I can't believe how many people were on that track! I guess I was spoilt for choice last time I rode off-road - there was always only our group on any the tracks! Anyone say "small town"?

I goofed and managed to drop my bike top-bar onto my knee when I came off on the 2nd lap, so that put a stop to the trip. Since it's all just bruised and stiff, I'll be back out in a week or so rearing to go again.

It's GREAT to be back.

Thanks to Russ for the ride company and to Cam and Doug for showing us the track.

Urgent Angry Doctor advice needed.

I've been renewing parts of my drivetrain this week and I haven't been able to find a granny ring for an XTR crank any where in Sydney.

The question is, do I go pro and run just the two rings, our are the hills going to be that bad that I put an old Race Face triple crank on that’s seen better days.

Any advice before 8pm today would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Chris

The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.

Ride Database Entry:
Stromlo Forest Park
Meeting Point:

Uriarra Road, just up from the Uriarra Road/Coppins Crossing Road turnoff.

Show on Google maps: Meeting point. Login or register to get directions.

After not quite adequate training for the Scott in just over two weeks time , i should get to know the trail , and have a little fun around this great place . If you would like to join me , you are welcome to come along . My plan is to ride a couple of numbered laps , stop for a bite another lap and by then the need for lights will be needed for the last slowdown lap from the pavillion to the Observatory and down via the sensational Berm Track , although it may be called the a different name .

If i have any legs on the day i will have a go at The heartbreaker climb

Copenhagen city bike share competition

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Check this out:

Copenhagen is a unique, world-class cycling city and this fact should be reflected in the city’s bike share system. Our city is the best example of how the bicycle can become the preferred form of transport in a modern city. An attractive and modern bike share system can contribute to strengthening Copenhagen’s bicycle culture. Therefore The City of Copenhagen is pleased to launch an open design competition in order to determine how a bike share system v. 3.0 would look and work in the city in the future.
