Manly Dam update for 11 Sep
Just did a couple of laps this afternoon. A few little puddles but generally dry and good condition.

Trail Direction
Hi Mobbers,
Just a quick question in regarding what is the correct direction for riding the Trail around the St.Ives/Mona Vale Rd areas.
Is it best if one parks on the Dirt clearing opposite Bunnings area, then ride towards St.Ives Showground, or Park at the Showground and head back to Bunnings, its probably been answered before, just thought if anyone else has wondered about it.
Cheers

I gave it everything!
Hi all,
I had a half day at work, so decided to hit up Manly Dam to see if I could post a time over a single lap.
Starting at Manly Vale Public, I took a slow warm-up lap in about 36, then put the hammer down and went for it.

Wylde a Winner!
Many thanks to all who voted in support of Wylde and (by inference) more MTB trails:

Bantry Bay update for 10 Sep
Rode Serrata, Daisy Dukes, Ghania and Possums this arvo and while there are still a couple of spots where water is running, the tracks are 99% dry. As noted elsewhere, Eurofest is currently bumping in at Ararat Reserve, so weekend riders will not be able cut across the reserve without buying a beer. Just like a single speed race, right?

Saturday Fling Training - The Prologue
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
End of Quarry Road, Hornsby - Parking is well signposted, directing cars to park at the END of the road. If this is full, park in the Dural Street carpark.
A group training ride - starting with a couple of warm-up laps of OMV, then Quarry Track, Old Northern Rd to Cherrybrook, some trails and single track around Cherrybrook, then back to Pennant Hills via Stringybark Ridge, then Westleigh before returning to OMV.
The plan is to establish a small training group for the lead-up to the Fling. As a guide, the pace will be set around the "3-hour half fling" mark, but we can accommodate slower & faster riders by splitting up on the single track loops. Of course even if you're not racing the Fling you're welcome!

Eurofest - Bantry Bay
Eurofest is on at Ararat Reserve this weekend.see http://www.eurofest.org.au/
Good: Stop for a German sausage and beer
Bad: Restricted parking along Bantry Bay Road and increased traffic and limited parking in the area

Awesome service
Just saying...
I ordered some specific parts from pushys online store, the sort of stuff bike shops don't carry as they are quite random (such as a ladies helmet in xxs, in a certain colour with certain features, a certain brand of chain lube and drive train cleaner..). I ordered it yesterday mid morning.
Low and behold! Today at 8:11am it was delivered to my front door!! That's a 22 hour turn around!! And it was free delivery!
Made my day.

Eh up...some actual improvement!!
This is prob a better reflection of my current hot lap time. Fitness and technical skills clearly have a long way to go, but nice to see improvement nonetheless! Still cant get up the last section of the rock steps in the golf course section. plus i bottled it in the last section (the rock roll downs leading into the newly 'block paved' descent before the dam wall exit).
