Ferrets Rugby League Clubhouse - End of Currie Rd Forestville
Social night open to mountain bike riders of all levels, talk bikes, learn mods/tricks and about local tracks. Show off your pride and joy (bring them into the clubhouse with you).
Feel free to come along just for the get together opportunity or incorporate a ride on the local trails nearby before a drink at the bar and a sausage sandwich, which are $4 each (Cash only).
Kids welcome but require adult supervision.
We had over 60 riders at our July meeting. Hope to see you there.

Section from Nerang to NBCS junction is still very muddy - best to take the road or park at NBCS. The tree just past the junction is now clear though.

29" Tyre Choice
Hi,
I had a rather spectacular failure on my front tyre on Sunday. Just riding the side walk in my street at about 5kmh, sort of tried to ride off the edge of the kerb. To then wake up on the floor with a cracked helmet, few cuts and a bruised hip.

2 Laps - Bangaroo Start
Hi all,
I've only been riding since the middle of April after one of my mates hounded me into trying mountain biking. I started on a borrowed Trek Fuel 26" from 2006 and managed a one-off flat out lap of 37:30.
A few months of training and a new 29er later, I returned to have another crack at Manly, but to test myself over 3 laps - Strava link below - I've used the "Bangaroo Start" segment, as the Manly Dam x2 segment on Strava cuts out the final climb on the street back to the school.
Lane Cove National Park update for 04 Aug
Rode through from De Burgh's Bridge to the top of Devlins today. Wet patches on the Avondale Creek and Devlins Creek sections are taking a long while to dry out, but there is nothing too horrible. The rock garden section north of Devlins Creek is extra challenging with wet sand on the damp rocks. Good traffic line on the concrete hill down out of Penno Park.

slashed tire
Hello everyone. So i went for a ride yesterday and at my halfway point i heard a ping from a rock flying of something, then a minute or 2 later my tire was flat. Im running tubeless so i was quite surprised i had a flat but when i looked closer the rock bounced of my rim and slashed my sidewall.
The cut is probably 1mm wide by about 3/4cm long so i though the goo should of sealed it but under closer inspection all the goo in my tire was dried up.

I love my weekend rides on the local singletrack loop. For me, it’s Old Man’s Valley in Hornsby. I usually combine it with some fire trail/ road segments and hill climbs to get in a solid 3 hour ride early in the day, then spend the rest of the day with my family. I love that feeling of fatigue in my legs all day, as a reminder I “got it done” early.
Manly Dam update for 03 Aug
Rode it Sunday 2pm - All good except the usual wet areas, but drying out nicely. Possum and KC 98% dry.
