Rocky Trail GE round 5 @ Stromlo 8th & 9th August
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
Uriarra Road, just up from the Uriarra Road/Coppins Crossing Road turnoff.
Last round of the GE series, come on down and race with us.
Pittwater Bike Plan
Not MTB-specific, but may be of interest to anyone north of the bridge (Narrabeen Bridge!)
Project summary
Pittwater Council is working on a new Bike Plan which will encourage an active Pittwater, where cycling is supported as a travel choice around our town centres and villages. It will also identify other important cycle linkages to destinations like beaches and parks.We are looking for input from all types of cyclists, from commuters to retirees and families, to help develop the plan to nurture a bike-friendly community.
Hellfire Cup FAQ & Promo
Hey everyone - towards the end of last year I wrote a bit about the Hellfire Cup in Tassie (19th - 22nd November). Its a hell (excuse me) of a good event.
As I said before, its a bit of a cross between a race, a social event, and a music festival. A really unique vibe. $ days of incredible MTB riding on some rad trails, with only half an eye on the results sheet.
Anyway - if anyone was interested in going, or had questions, there are two events this week that will provide answers and also some benefits..
Another flying with my bike thread
I'm just about to book flights for an MTB trip to NZ in a couple of months and have a couple of questions. I know there's a million of these threads but airlines change their rules and regs quite often.
Anyone flown with their bike on Emirates? There price is good and they have a 30kg checked bag limit which is higher than all the rest of the airlines.
Is there somewhere I can hire a bag from? Preferably a hard case. Or, at a push, does anyone mind lending me their bag for a week in October in exchange for a couple of cases of their favorite brew?
Lane Cove National Park update for 29 Jul
There are still areas of standing water on the Devlin Ck firetrails - most have established lines around them now. Council has graded two sketchy sections east of Kissing Pt road so Strava PR's are a distinct possibility
