29'er SS V's 26" geared - shotout
I’ve always wondered what is faster the Surly Karate Monkey (29er) SS or the Yeti ASR RC 26inch with 27 gears. I haven’t ridden the Yeti since the Fling but with the SS in for a fork service I had time to find out.
The course was my standard Terrey Hills training loop of the shops to Duck Holes / Waratah / Centre via the sniggle. It’s a distance of 24.85k.

early winmalee fun
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
End of White Cross Rd, Winmalee, NSW. There's a small parking area here but it's a standard suburban street so overflow isn't a problem.
Just heading out early for a medium to fast paced training ride. Feel free to come along.

Anderson climb
Took the new 429 down Andos today and thought I'd have a crack at my hot lap time from May 08, I thought I might be struggling as I'd been chasing my very fast friend up the highway from Woodford then down Andos and the heat was picking up. I flicked on the pro pedal and lock out and smashed my old time by a whopping 1m 27s the training must be working.
John.

Flat bar
Hey we are currently trying to find the best setup for Vaninas bike, We are looking for a narrow flat bar to borrow and see if that works. It would be best to get one with a 31.8 clamp as I have more stem lengths to work with but either will do.
Cheers for the help.

Leaky rear shock - service or replace?
As the title suggests I am loosing pressure in my rear shock, a fox float R. It's on my 04 Stumpjumper and will be coming up to 5 years of abuse this year. It is a very gradual thing but its a pain. Is it worth servicing? or getting a new one? Looks like I need a new wheel set too so it could be a costly time especially seeing as I actually want to buy a new bike, Mountain and Road.
