YES its time for RED HILL by the light of the moon, well at least assisted by 12 volts of LED power.

Bring your armour as this isn't for the newbie’s and ain’t going to be pretty!
We will be doing the extremely technical loop, no down hill.

There will be cursing
There will be blood
There will be heroes

Are you up for it?
Got what it takes?

Oh, and bring a couple of beers for the post ride banter as we wave the ambulance goodbye!

12-13 September 2009
Mogo, Eurobodalla Coast NSW
Entries Open 1 May 2009

Each year the event sells out in just a couple of weeks with many disappointed people scrambling to go on the waiting list. We are hoping to get permission to increase numbers but initially registrations will be capped as per last year.

We have been checking out other MTB locations and apart from some awesome trails in the USA we visited last year the Mogo tracks are still the best we have found in Australia. And the beach is right there for a post ride surf or swim - perfect!!

So much gear I need to get so I need opinions please!

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Ok, so I've got my bike, my helmet and my riding computer. But that's it so far, and I'm in need of so much more. But after a few attempts at wading through the myriad of options I'm starting to get swamped, so I'm opening this up to you all in the hope that I can get some constructive opinions on what to get and from where. I have noticed the prices on CRC seem to be very good compared to our retail prices here in OZ, so would you all advise I get MOST of this stuff in one batch order from them? (Of course opening up the same order to anyone else who is after stuff)

Tree Top Adventure @ Ourimbah

Have just updated the Ourimbah page with the info below but thought it worthy of separate note. This is a great idea by State Forests to get more families out and visiting them.

In January '09 we noticed that a Tree Top Adventure Park has opened where the lower car park used to be. This appears to have some temporary amenities right now, but no doubt something more permanent will come.

$1.7 billion for "critical deferred maintenance" in the National Park System

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

No, sorry - not here! Sad

It's all monopoly money over in the US of A anyhow, so why wouldn't they slosh some the way of the National Parks? Google around and you'll discover in the recent economic stimulus program $1.7 Billion has been set aside for "critical deferred maintenance" in National Parks. This includes trail building. Smiling
