Cook Street Track
This is named on Whereis as 'Cook Street Track'. Firetrail which is pretty steep and in some parts loose & rocky. There is a loop at the bottom and a small walking track that I assume goes to the water (didn't look).
Trail Closed.
This trail is now closed, and will be re-vegetated.
An alternate trail linkage will be advised shortly.
Approximately half-way there are aboriginal rock carvings. These carvings are protected by federal and state law and riding over the top of them is inappropriate.
Note that individuals found guilty of a damaging an Aboriginal object without intent - face $110,000 or six months in jail. Those proven to have ''knowingly'' damaged an object face $550,000 or two years' jail.

Questions for the Minister for Climate Change and the Environment
As I'm yet to receive a reply to my letter to the Minister for Climate Change and the Environment I just shot this off to my local minister, Jillian Skinner. Let's see what response this gets...
Dear Mrs Skinner,
I am writing to you as my minister for state parliament and have an issue I would appreciate your help with.

New enduro event - Capital Punishment
Just received this media release from some mates. Sounds fun!
Craving Capital Punishment?
5 January 2009
By now, all mountain bikers in the country would have heard of - or ridden for the lucky ones - Mt Stromlo, host of the 2008 UCI World Cup and the 2009 UCI World Championships! Chances are Majura Pines also rings a bell as the headquarters for the Mont 24Hour MTB event. Finally, Canberrean riders at least would know of these other local gems that are Sparrow Hill and Bruce Ridge...

Wingello burning?
I heard on the radio last night as I was driving that there were fires in Wingello? Wonder if the nice Fling course we rode is affected.
Of course hopefully no property down there is affected too.

Bicycle sales rise in Australia
Data released yesterday revealed that - for the ninth consecutive year - consumers bought more bicycles than cars.
From http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,24882601-2,...
And how much money is spent on road infrastructure? And how much on bicycle facilities? It's a fcuking disgrace!

Keen to Enter a Team for the Mont 24 This Year
Hi Guys,
Some of my mates have already entered this event and the ones that haven't are too unreliable. I am keen to enter in a team of 4 for this years Mont at Sparrow Hill. So are there any groups out there looking for anotehr compeditor, or are the 3 others like me looking to join a group.
I would probably rate myself intermediate at distance riding and will train for the event.
I do like Beer and sleep at these events too.
