Juicy 7 vs Deore XT

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

I've just bought a new (old) hardtail off fleabay and I'm thinking about changing the brakes & shifters, but I'm after some opinions.

It came with Juicy 7's and SRAM X7/X9 shifters/deraileurs, but I'm not really a fan of SRAM after experiencing the joys of Shimano's Rapid Rise rear derailleurs teamed with integrated brake/shifter levers on my Jekyll.

Greetings!!

I will be riding the downhill / freeride trails at Oxford Falls on Saturday morning. Will look to do a few hours worth. Anyone interested is more than welcome to come along. I am doing my best to ensure there will be at least one shuttling vehicle available. I will know more on that over the next couple of days.

These trails are mainly for the skilled, the brave, or just plain stupid. Probably not suited to a noob rider. Having said that, some of the trail branches are quite accessible to a stock XC bike so if you are interested in learning, do come along.
