Manly dam

Just wanted to say thanks to the 3 gents that donated their tube to my brother and the use of their track pump.
We had literally 10 minutes before hand donated our stuff to another rider before succumbing to a similar fate of a torn sidewall.
Mtb karma lives on.
So if it happens to be someone on this forum, get in touch, and we'll kindly reimburse you (with a 6 pack as interest)
Thanks again from the brightly coloured Cannondale boys Smiling

Trail braiding southern end Bewildered Possum

Trail braiding at the southern entrance to Bewildered Possum. This photo is taken facing back down towards the trail entrance (opposite to primary direction of travel for riders).

Notice the trail being beaten down to the left of the photo, avoiding the rocky area.

Manly Dam update for 21 Dec

Area:
Manly Dam
Status:
Green/Open

Track is dry except for the creek crossings.

First time I've ridden the regular circuit for awhile. Watch out on the fire trail descent to Curl Curl Ck, there is a lot of loose sand that is often difficult to distinguish from the hard-packed line.

The climb up Heartbreak Hill is much easier than it was.

And as C3PO said a few days ago, "A lot of loose, fist sized rocks along the Allambie single trail bit (before the grass verge above the hydro lab) - just part of the ever changing trail."

Red Hill Fire Trail Gates

First it was a great technical downhill (from the rock carvings)
next some heavy earthmoving equipment turned it into a fun downhill with air opportunities (I dont dispute the necessity of safe and ready access of the RFS to fight fires)
Then the effective use of tax payer funds to bugger up everyones fun with a gate that would stop a Sherman Tank in the middle nowhere. (At the start of the climb to the rock carvings/turn off to top of Cromer)

Go figure!
