Awaba State Forest update for 05 Mar
Quick look this morning. I only rode the 1km between the main car park & Siberia. It's damp & okay in most places where I was, but I'm more than certain that the rainforest & clay sections on the far side would be completely slop-fest.
Give it another 24hrs at least. If not more...

Cascades - Social
The meeting times are 'ready to ride'. If you need time to prepare equipment then please arrive a few minutes earlier.
End of Wyatt Ave, Belrose - this is on the East side of Garigal National Park.
Slowly getting back into MTB.
Pace will be social with the odd push on some of the climbs.
All about having some fun, with a bit of fitness thrown in...

Pre race fuelling
An interesting approach to pre race fuelling. It has the added benefit of maximising sleep time when you've got an early morning race start (like the up-coming Capital Punishment)

This image has been going around a bit, but don't think anyone here has mentioned it.
Thought I'd share so we can discuss the possible causes and how to avoid such a situation yourself 
Picking a stronger rim/spoke combo might help, or do you think rider error is completely to blame?
Manly Dam update for 02 Mar
I haven't been there, but there is no way the Dam is going to be in any state to ride after all the recent rain.
Only Amber because there is no official update, but do your bike and the trail a favour and stay away for a few days after the rain (eventually) stops.

Thredbo Mtb Plan Under Threat?
Clearly people dont realise how low-impact a well built trail can be, and just to prove their point, they want to put in shared single track between walkers and riders... that will end well...
No more N+1
Over the last 2 years or so I have subscribed to the N+1 theory. I think there has been about 7 bikes in that period.
But I came to the realisation a few months ago that you really can only ride one bike at a time... I found that I was riding one bike most of the time and maybe one other occasionally... so the rest sat in the corner collecting dust.
So I thought long and hard about what riding I really do. I needed a race bike... a top notch race bike... so along came the s-works epic http://nobmob.com/node/44528
